Haley had the first car that looked good and the deal didn't sound fishy that we seriously considered when my daughter and I started looking. Given the distance, the initial contact was via chat, all of the rest of the communication was online or by phone. While we were working with Glenn, we were also talking to 3 other dealers. Glenn sent us the proposal, very professional, with an out the door price, no BS, no slight of hand, very straightforward. Talking with Glenn was like talking with a knowledgeable friend that you would call if you didn't know about these things. He ran through all of the reasons to go with a certified vehicle, Haley's reputation, and then he said something you never hear at a dealership, he said we should look around at other dealers and see what other deals are out there. Knowing the distance and traffic we would have to contend with, Glenn also offered to meet us half way so we could see the car and take it for a drive. When we had negotiated a good deal on the same car only one year older at another dealer, I thought I was breaking the news to Glenn that we were going with another dealer. Thinking Haley couldn't get near this price, I shared the deal info with Glenn and thanked him for his frankness. He asked if he could call me back while he worked to earn my business. The next day he called back came withing a couple hundred of the other deal. The Haley deal was actually better due to the Haley car being GM Certified. When we decided to visit Richmond, a 95 mile drive one way, on Saturday, Glenn let us know that he wasn't going to be there while he went camping with his son's scout troop. He put us in touch with Levar and Jubari. They went over the car front to back with us, every scratch, was pointed out by Jubari and Levar went over everything the dealership could do for us at no cost. No up sell, no hard sell, I felt like I was dealing with honest people. Tyler knew we would probably never be back to the dealership because of the distance and because we had our own financing, he did everything to streamline the paperwork while still pointing out the important things we needed to address or be aware of. All in all, I was very impressed with everyone I spoke with at Haley. I hope everyone has the same experience my daughter and I did. It may be nearly a hundred mile but I'll start with Haley when I go looking for our next car. More
My only concern was how GMC does not give their sales team the freedom to give the customer what they want on a vehicle. Overall this dealership was the best in this buying experience. For approximately two years I have taken my 2007 GMC Yukon to Haley for service on various issues (oil change and tire rotation, 4 wheel drive issues, lights, annual inspections) and I have always been Yukon to Haley for service on various issues (oil change and tire rotation, 4 wheel drive issues, lights, annual inspections) and I have always been treated very well, the work was performed very professionally and if I was not 100% satisfied with something they were quick to make it right or to explain why it was or was not the way I wanted it. In early May a large part of a larger tree fell on top of same Yukon and did extensive damage to the roof and associated parts. My insurance company is State Farm and when I was looking at their site for a body shop that dealt with SF as soon as I came across Haley I knew that is where I wanted to take my vehicle. I did not know anything about the history of the body shop, whether they did good work or not but did know that I was happy with the previous service work that had been done there and wanted to make sure that I received genuine GMC parts so I chose the Haley body shop for the work to be done. From the beginning Patrick in the xx and his staff (manager types and service personnel) could not have been more accommodating and nice to work with. Patrick spent time with me explaining what the process would be and what he and his staff had to do to determine the extent of the damage and what it would take to make my Yukon like new. Long story short, within a few weeks, actually faster than I thought it would happen I had my Yukon returned to me and it looked as good or better than when it was new 4 years prior. I need to add that just prior to getting it back I saw the almost finished product on the lot and was not pleased with the paint job and spoke with Patrick about it. He knew exactly what I was concerned about and said that he and his paint guy were not happy with it either and would take care of it. He also thanked me for my observation and was pleased that now he knew what my expecttions were of the finished product. Since getting the Yukon back I have received many compliments on the "look" of the vehicle and am quick to tell them who did the work and who to ask for. I also tell them of the great customer service I have recieved and highly recommend Haley GMC to them. I have been in the customer service field for over 30 years as a Director of Parks and Recreation in several cities, counties and state government as well as marketing in the priviate sector so I know what the customer expects from a provider and I can say without hesitation that Haley GMC on Midlothian Turnpk in Richmond, VA is tops both in customer service and in the quality of the service provided both in the service and body shop sides of the operation.
