The one that got away. Went in to purchase a Certified pre owned Ford Fiesta. Just something for better fuel economy, and to replace my aging 15 year old grocery getter. No power windows, etc. Unfortunately this vehicle was involved in an accident when the lot attendant was out filling it up. So the dealership upgraded me to the next model. Great customer service. Worst Service Department Experience in 50 Years! I made an appointment by telephone with Jay Delancey and was told to be there at 0845 hrs. I arrived at 0840 hrs. and was told I was one hour late an I made an appointment by telephone with Jay Delancey and was told to be there at 0845 hrs. I arrived at 0840 hrs. and was told I was one hour late and they could not get my vehicle in for at least 1 1/2 hours. Jay Delancey insisted I heard him incorrectly and was told 0745 hours. I made an appointment for the following day. I arrived at 0730 hrs and the vehicle was immediately taken by a lot attendant out of my sight. At 0825 hrs, I walked outside to talk on the phone and noticed my truck sitting in the rear parking lot untouched. I went inside and spoke with Jay Delancey who could not have cared less that the vehicle was not being serviced yet. I asked to speak with the Service Manager (Micheal Bromwell) and explained the situation. He said he would check in the shop and see what the status was. He came back and told me my vehicle would be ready in 10 minutes. I said that was amazing because the vehicle had never been brought in by a technician. He said I must be looking at the wrong vehicle in the lot and that mine was up on a lift. I asked him what kind of vehicle was on the lift and he said a Ford Transit. Amazing! My vehicle was an F-350. I asked for my keys and I left! I did receive a follow-up call from Mike Bromwell later in the day and he apologized for the lack of customer service and even offered to pick-up the vehicle and have it serviced at no cost. I told him I appreciate the offer but had made other arrangements for service. The only glimmer of hope that I would ever consider using Hagerstown Ford again is that Mr. Bromwell took the proactive step to remedy the issue. I appreciate that very much! More
