He really worked hard to get me a fair deal along with the Finance Manager on my car of choice the 2014 Passat and I was very pleased. He was completely focused on me the entire process and also was very thorough in showing me how the Passat dash works. I went away happy about both my new car and the experience! I too leased a Passat yesterday and I have to say, without a doubt John Shorter before starting this and I couldn't agree more with what she wrote. I too leased a Passat yesterday and I have to say, without a doubt that this was the absolute best buying experience that I have ever had at a dealership. Being a married male in my upper fifties, I can tell you that I have bought/leased numerous vehicles over the years and never has the experience been more pleasant than this, from start to finish. I'll use present tense as I'm confident that John has a lot of mileage left! He is highly knowledgeable about the vehicles, the programs, the manufacturing process, and on and on. He is also 110% customer service driven. No detail was too small, and he covered everything about the vehicle and every question that my wife and I brought up. Unfortunately for VW, they cannot clone John. There is no hard sell at all and he is more of a personal consultant. I just can't say enough about the experience. Oh, by the way, the car is fantastic too. I decided that I needed a change of pace, so I traded my 2010 CC for the 2014 Passat SEL. The performance, styling, etc. of the car is great so far, as I am confident that it will be that way, right up until when the time comes again to think about the next vehicle. I sure hope that John will not have opted to retire by then. More

We bought a used 2010 VW Passat wagen from Gunther VW. It has 20k miles and looks and drives brand new. I would never expect a service issue with this car. The car is fantastic, but we realized that our trad has 20k miles and looks and drives brand new. I would never expect a service issue with this car. The car is fantastic, but we realized that our trade was grossly undervalued, so we paid a little more than we should have. You expect that when you trade a car to a dealer. They have to make money to keep the doors open, but when we figured out that we got beaten up real bad we asked for help. The car we traded in had low miles, and the top of the line NAV system offered by the factory, and every bell and wistle known to man. Our new one had a basic radio, and no frills. We asked if they would install a free NAV in our car, to at least upgrade it to what we traded in. We figured that they would counter with a story about how they could not do it for free, so how about dealer cost. That would have been great! BUT...That was the thing that stopped all communication with the salesmen. We cannot get anyone to call back, if just to say no. I have been getting the run around for over a week now. Repeated phone calls get no phone calls back, no reasons, no communication of any kind. They will not respond at all. They are real good before the sale, but after the sale, you will not get the time of day! I know I will never be unhappy with their service, because I have visited Wallace VW up in Stuart, FL, and I have great communication, including all my answers to my questions about the NAV. I will go there for service, and will buy my next VW there too. Gunther has lost a good customer, but I guess that is good for Wallace! More

I was able to negotiate all aspects of the deal, online, with complete transparency, in a very professional and courteous manner with Mr. Shorter. At the time of pick up, John was very laid-back and complete with his presentation. There were no hidden agendas either from him or the financial department which I greatly appreciated. A great deal of time and effort were spent trying to satisfy me. They did a great job!. I would highly recommend this dealership and John shorter if you're interested in a Volkswagen.
