First off, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience this unfortunate situation may have caused. There was a pricing error on a few Maximas that went out to the internet on Saturday, a $4,000 rebate was calculated into the pricing on a few select units twice. The error was discovered and corrected right away. This was not a case of bait and switch or anything underhanded, it was a simple error that was made, and corrected as soon as possible. In fact, the pricing was up to date before the visit was made to our store. We do our best to make sure everything is correct but sometimes mistakes do happen, human or otherwise. We sincerely apologize for the mistake that occurred with the internet pricing, if there is anything we can do to help, please let us know.

I'm afraid that I'll have to reject your apology for inconveniencing me. When a person or company is truly sorry, they try to right the wrong that was done. I sent emails to Gulf Coast management 17 days ago, and the only reason that you're corresponding with me now, is that I've taken this public via dealerrater.com. I've also been checking your website to see if the car has sold, and apparently it sold just a couple of days ago. That is convenient. I also noticed that the price was raised another $4,000.00. Did you pull the $4,000.00 bait & switch on someone else too? You say that the error was discovered and corrected right away, but why didn't my sales person know about the error? I had checked the price of the car on the morning of the day that we went to the dealership, and the price was the same. The price had to have been changed within a few hours of our arriving at the dealership. The evening that I was at your store, you gave me a flyer that you made stating the error, but why wasn't the flyer posted in public places around the showroom? I believe that the flyer was printed just prior to giving it to me. You say “if there is anything we can do to help, please let us know”. I told all of the management team that they could sell me the car for the price that was offered, but they didn’t even have the decency to respond to my emails. Shame on you Gulf Coast Auto Group for your unethical business practices!

Update to my original review. I received a message from a Peter Kohler from Gulf Coast Nissan. He asked me to call to discuss the issues. I called and spoke with him several weeks ago. He was very polite and seemed genuinely interested in helping me with my issue. I thought that we had a nice conversation. He informed me that he would look into the situation and call me back. I have yet to receive a call back from him. Continued customer service failure from Gulf Coast Nissan. I can honestly say that I have never received such shoddy customer service in my life.

I spoke with Nissan Service and you brought the vehicle in because of an engine check light, they processed the code and it told them it was related to the turbo, so they were going to change out the turbo under warranty. Upon starting the process they discovered the engine oil was like 'black jello' and that was why the light came on in the first place. It appears that the oil had never been changed, there were no stickers indicating it had been changed and it had the original oil filter on it, not to mention you had no receipts for oil changes, or for products used to change the oil, and the oil filter on the vehicle was the one that originally came with the vehicle when it was new They tried to show you the state of the oil but you declined. Nissan was notified and given pictures and they declined the warranty coverage based on the oil condition and the belief that no maintenance had been performed. I apologize but that's where things stand at the moment
