A portion of our inventory is sold “as-is” which allows us to offer more attractive pricing to our clients. In this case, the price on the Mercedes you purchased was the 2nd best in the country and the best price within 500 miles. The vehicle you purchased is what we refer to as an exotic vehicle ($80,000 brand new) and one that we do not have the expertise to work on. As such, we do not offer a dealer warranty on vehicles like this, which is fully disclosed on all paperwork prior to finalizing the purchase. In addition, all of our customers are encouraged to take any “as-is” vehicle to their own technicians or mechanics for inspection prior to purchase. This is also discussed and clearly stated in all of the documentation. It is for these reasons that you were presented with the option of using some of the savings in the price of the vehicle to purchase an extended warranty, which you chose not to purchase. I can certainly understand why due to the cost being approximately $9,500. Despite clear understanding at the time of purchase that the vehicle was sold “as-is” with no expressed or implied warranty, after meeting with you, we requested that you share the diagnosis with us once it was completed. While we were not comfortable committing to anything, we were not ruling out the possibility of helping out in some way. We did not, however, receive the diagnosis.
