Went in for an 18-month service on my new Crosstrek. Oil change, rotation and 30 point checkup and free carwash. Went in to Express so no appointment needed. Out in under an hour. The best place I could have broken down. I travel for work and drove my Subaru ~250 miles to Albany this week. I stayed in a hotel downtown. When I came back to my car, which was located I travel for work and drove my Subaru ~250 miles to Albany this week. I stayed in a hotel downtown. When I came back to my car, which was located in the garage overnight, it was dead. Tried to jump it with no luck, the car was dead DEAD. After a quick call to Subaru roadside assistance, I had a quick tow to the closest Subaru dealership - Goldstein Subaru. I tried calling ahead, but didn’t get through. The car was towed directly to the back of the property, I walked in and was quickly greeted by one of the service reps, Sandy. She informed me that the service department was booked into August, but after explaining the situation I was in, traveling with no way to get back home, she quickly agreed to get service looking in on the car even though the shop was closing in an hour. It wasn’t an easy diagnosis. Battery appears to carry full charge, but every light on the dashboard was lit up like a Christmas tree and not turning over. After an hour of troubleshooting, they didn’t have an answer for me, but got me a free loaner car so that I could head back to a hotel for the evening. The next morning, they were back at it when I arrived at 8:30. By 9:30, I saw the car running for the first time getting driven into the service bay by the tech who figured out it was in fact a battery issue. I’m so incredibly glad they figured out what was wrong. I was about ready to rent a car to return home. Needless to say, Subaru picked up 80% of the cost of a new battery. All I had to pay for was the labor in troubleshooting the car. I was back on the road by 11:15. Huge thanks to Sandy and the rest of the service team which went above and beyond to get me back on the road, even though I had no appointment. They didn’t have to help me, but I sure am glad they did. I didn’t even mention that I was a Subaru Ambassador. Made it home safe and sound driving the same Subaru I came in with. I will be forever loyal to Subaru and if I’m ever in the area again, the Goldstein Auto group. #subaruambassador #phillysubarudad More
