Recently I had battery problems on my 2021 Subaru Outback. I contacted Goldstein and they asked that I drop it off so they could assess and test the battery. They found it needed replacement and it was fully covered under my new car warranty. Also, they replaced it with a larger battery of greater capacity than the original. Because the higher capacity battery was larger than the original, they also installed a larger tray to accommodate it. Fortunately, Subaru made provision not merely with getting me through the original 3 year 36 month period, which was fast approaching, but provided a more powerful battery to better meet the electrical demands of the high technology required today. Goldstein Subaru consistently assists in times of need. Today's example is I had a last minute issue. No appointment, they not only accommodated me day of they got the problem fixed in the same day. Got to Goldstein Subaru on time and was out of there 50 minutes later. Got an oil change, rotated tires and air filters replaced. Tim, the service rep was knowledgeable and pleasant. minutes later. I brought my Forester in for service and was told the cost would be almost $800. This was for a 30,000 checkup. I explained that I would be turning the car in no later than next June as the lease was e cost would be almost $800. This was for a 30,000 checkup. I explained that I would be turning the car in no later than next June as the lease was ending. I also explained that I had purchased a maintenance agreement and that a good portion of what they would be doing was covered under the agreement. The service manager came back and said it would instead be $109.95 and that I would have to leave it for the day but I was given a courtesy vehicle to use. At the end of the day I was notified that they did not have time to complete the service and I would have to wait until the next day to pickup my car. Wasn't too happy about this but I did still have the courtesy car. When I came in the next day I was checked out by a different service advisor who told me that the bill was over $800. I explained that the other advisor quoted me the lower price and was told the other advisor made a mistake. I understand that she was a new person. In any case, they did finally agree to charge me based on the rate quoted. But with the delay of a day and the time it took to get this issue resolved before I could pick up my car, I can only give 4 stars for this service. On another issue...I had requested to get a GOLD cleaning done next spring and wanted to book it far in advance. When I had the first GOLD cleaning done, I discovered that you had to book it a few months in advance. In this case I was surprised to learn that they were booked up for the next six months until June. Since I will be turning the car in around that time there was no point in having the cleaning done. If I had known when I leased the car that there was such a lengthy delay, I would have reconsidered purchasing the maintenance agreement, especially since the maintenance agreement doesn't offer any discount on the 30,000 mile inspection. BTW...my vehicle only had about 12,000 miles on it but I was told that it is 30,000 or 2-1/2 months into the lease...which ever came sooner. I think that when I sign a new lease next year. I will probably pass on the maintenance agreement. Thank you. More
