Great experience with a new lease This was my 2nd lease with Nissan of Serramonte. Worked with Claudio who was fantastic. He listened to my budget and the options I was interested in. He was friendly and never made me feel pressured - he was also very considerate of my time and went out of his way to make sure the experience was great for me. Lemon Where do I start - there are so many problems with this dealer, from the attitude of the sales manager to the lack of follow through service on the pa Where do I start - there are so many problems with this dealer, from the attitude of the sales manager to the lack of follow through service on the part of the business manager to selling me a bad vehicle under false pretenses. Okay, I was sold a Nissan Quest, supposedly pre-checked and fully certified with a complete warranty. Problem 1 - I told them what I could put down and what I could afford. They tried to talk me into higher than I could afford so much I almost left the dealer. Then they gave me something we could agree on, although it was severe a downgrade form the older vehicle I was trading in. (Oh, and this also involved some dishonesty on their part. I asked if I could replace my cloth seats with vinyl. They said no. Yet later I found out that it WAS an option). However, when I showed up with my agreed upon down payment, they asked for an additional $150 that I did not have. I almost walked out again when the sales manager got huffy with me and said it would result in a lower monthly payment in the long run, but I still did not have the money, then he offered to let me bring in the $150 later. I should have walked out, but I instead agreed. So problem 1 is they did not honor the agreement we had struck originally. Problem 2 - I have custom vanity plates that travel with me to whatever vehicle is registered to me. When making the purchase I asked if they could take care of transferring the plates for me, and was assured they would. However, when I picked up the car, the sales manager refused and was very rude about it. He first claimed that no dealer does it, but I reminded him that I have had it done with every car purchase for over 20 years. He finally said the truth "I am not willing to". The following week I went back and the finance manager went ahead and talked with the DMV lady, who was there at that moment, and we got it taken care of. If not for him, I would have returned the vehicle right then for the broken promise. The finance manager is the ONLY person who acted with integrity in this whole ordeal outside of the service guy (that comes later in this narrative). Problem 3 - Roughly two weeks into driving it, the check engine light came on. It was a transmission code. I took it to the service department, and they informed me that the transmission needs to be REPLACED (I am a professional bus driver. I do not gun the engine or shift hard ever). He also said that it is likely someone had turned the code off before selling me the vehicle. It only had 40,000 miles on it, one owner - a Hawaiin rental car company. A new transmission? I was rather upset. Problem 4 - Being my only vehicle, and having a need for that class of vehicle for my personal uses, I had to really jumble a schedule to get a time to leave it with them and arrange an equivalent rental. This the service manager did nicely. He was about the most honest and reasonable person I came across in the entire dealership. However, when I went to pick up the rental, the rental company wanted money from me. My warranty covers the cost of rental, but the rental company wanted money from the driver too "just in case". Just in case of what? Nissan covers the cost and my insurance covers any issues should they occur. I live check to check and did not have the money they wanted, so despite the Service Manager's offer to pay what they wanted, they refused. I could not be without a vehicle, so I had to cancel the service and I asked Nissan to find another rental company that is more sensible (I have had cars with similar warranties before and never had to pay money for what was covered to a rental company). The service manager said his hands were tied because their contract is with that rental company (Enterprise). So I kept my vehicle, with its need of a new tranny. Problem 5 - I followed up with the General Manager to try to resolve the problem. He told me he would get back to me with a solution. He never did. I called back 2 weeks later and left a message. He never returned my call. It has now been 5 months. I still am driving on my "need to be replaced" transmission from this "pre checked certified" pre-owned care with just 44,000 miles on it now, and nothing has been resolved. I am also not happy with the vehicle itself for other reasons, so I will never buy a Nissan again, but even when I am in the market again for ANY new or used car, I will never do business with this company again even if you paid me to. Stay away from them - they will not only sell you a lemon with lies attached, they will renig on the promises they make and the deals they cut, they will get angry if you ask them to honor their word, and they will not follow through to resolve any issues you may have. Do not buy from this company. More

Denzo and his staff went above and beyond to get us the vehicle that we were interested in, even with our extremely complicated and near impossible situation. He was very honest and straight forward with what he could do for us in our situation, and just when we thought that all was lost, he came through with a resolution that got us the car we wanted with the terms that we could live with.
