Disappointing - Called Jamey Holt based on response posted, Basically he apologized and he would let the service team know. My service adviser was Chris Marget. No resolution to the issue, If they real posted, Basically he apologized and he would let the service team know. My service adviser was Chris Marget. No resolution to the issue, If they really wanted to resolve this issue they could have contacted me directly not just post a response - they were not expecting any one to call based on the response. Before you buy a Mini check out the service, they will promising the world and their service reps go above and beyond to promise that they will take care of any issue but when they really need to backup their promise just hollow promises. Talking to other Mini Owner - Top answers they will give you for rough idle - Your not using tier 1 gas, Carbon buildup on intake Manifold, Fuel Injectors needs cleaning. My Problem was a Faulty Fuel Pump that is on a Recall not Carbon build up on intake manifold. $700 for repair that was not needed. He Agreed that they should have tried the fuel pump first instead of doing the carbon cleaning on the manifold. Get a Second Opinion More
I have purchased two vehicles from Global Mini. Some parts of the experience have been good, others not so much. Purchased a 2005 Mini S Convertible used. There were a couple of things wrong and with a parts of the experience have been good, others not so much. Purchased a 2005 Mini S Convertible used. There were a couple of things wrong and with a little complaining they made it right. About 5 months later, the car started leaking antifreeze. After researching, found it was the thermo housing that for whatever reason was made of plastic and very prone to fail. Called to see about getting it repaired and they told me they only do service by appointment?? WHAT? So, drove it over anyway, it was leaking badly but I live a quarter mile away. Replacement was well over $300. So, my loss but appointment? Really? I ended up trading to a new Countryman, very cool vehicle. Part of the sale was due to no maintenance cost for 36 months or 36000 miles. Got a very nice mini and the sale portion was good (thanks Sergey). At the time I was told that the only thing that wasn't covered was the tires. Ok, fine.. Well, after getting the car, the clutch was AWEFUL (not the dealers fault) Looked it up and on the 2012 models there were a LOT of people who thought the same. 30+ years driving a clutch and I felt like I forgot how the xxxx to drive one. Not sure about what the outcome of that will be later. Well, car always pulled left or right. Driving was a constant battle (metaphorically) countering the pulling tendencies. Would not drive straight down the road. This is since day one. Issues with putting the gear shifter into first too with it being stiff to feeling blocked to push it up on occasion. Worse on cold days. Never had a car do that. Pulled into an intersection one time with ample time to go and got stuck with the shifter. SCARY!! So, took it in today, June 25 for alignment check, balance and rotate and also check the shifting. GUESS WHAT? The 36 month, 36000 mile maintenance does not cover alignment or rotate balance of tires. TIRES. So, yea, tires are not covered. Wear out the brakes, covered.... out of alignment, or balance, NOT covered. So, brakes have something to do with tires I would suspect... why covered then..? On top of that they had a service special. Normally alignment would be 150+ dollars and rotate and balance $69 dollars. They had a special for Alignment at $99. Total for an alignment and rotate tires and balance them was $179+/-.... So much for no cost of ownership maintenance for the first 3 years!! So, what happens now when at 37000 miles the clutch goes? I have heard (and you can look it up) that a lot of people had replacements and that the parts had been changed to correct the issues (no, people didn't forget how to drive a clutch after all). Seems some dealers work with customers and that Mini USA routinely does the repair but some dealers try to charge. So, in closing, I have mixed feelings. I love the Mini Countryman All4 though..!!! EDIT-------------------------------------------------------------------------After getting home----------------------------------------- Ok, After I got home the Service Manager called me. He stated that he understood that there was confusion about what the "Bonnet to Bonnet coverage" (my term taken from ad, he said something similar) was the way it was presented to me at the sale. He told me to bring the vehicle back in and they would do the Alignment and the Rotate/Balance for me at no charge. He stated that they wanted to make sure I was happy. Well, took it back in today, they did the work and as always, washed my Mini and vacuumed it too. Now, after driving a few miles to see, it doe NOT have the pull to one side or the other. According to the alignment printout, the alignment was off very slightly on one indication. The rest was fine. Hard to believe that the thing was feeling that 'off' just from a small misalignment. So, the moral of the story is that small things do matter. Whether it be alignment or a dealer going out of the way, both ending in making you smile again More
Chandra Mayo was great to work with. I felt no sales pressure working with her and she totally met my expectations and followed up with some open items after the sale. I would recommend you ask for her pressure working with her and she totally met my expectations and followed up with some open items after the sale. I would recommend you ask for her when you come to this dealership. More
Very impressed with Global. Warm welcome but not pushy. Good inventory of Mini Cooper S's. Mayo - the sales associate - was fantastic; supportive, knowledgeable and a pleasure to do business with!
