Very disappointing Dear sir / madam About 7 years ago I bought a Toyota Camry and Lexus LX470 new from the same group (Germain) in Naples Florida. The cars are bas Dear sir / madam About 7 years ago I bought a Toyota Camry and Lexus LX470 new from the same group (Germain) in Naples Florida. The cars are based at our seasonal residence in Naples, Florida. We only spend about 8 - 12 weeks a year there and the rest of the time they cars sit in a garage. So the cars have had the equivalent of about two years use. Largely we have been satisfied with how these cars have performed, however recently we found that the top of the dashboard in the Camry was literally melting - it had gone all sticky and every time it went in the sun, even in the winter, it got progressively worse. Honestly this has been going on for ages and I know we should have kicked up a fuss earlier, but we didn't know it was a common issue and Germain never told us, despite both cars going back for regular servicing. In any event, in April this year I called them about this problem. Germain insisted I come in so they could look at it, photographs were apparently not good enough. When I took the car in, I was kept waiting for about 20 minutes and then the service adviser took one look at the car and said, he agreed there was a problem. It was so fast and such an easy assessment, it is obviously something they have seen many times before. I have now checked online and it does indeed appear to have been a common problem with this year of Camry. Toyota were prepared to supply only the parts for free, but Germain would contribute nothing. So I had to pay out the extra $250 of labour to get it fixed. Now I know the car is a little older but it has only 30,000 miles on it and this is clearly a design or manufacturing problem. We choose Toyota as they have a great reputation but clearly this was misplaced. Germain also showed their true colors, as without extra profit motive they could not have cared less about wasting our time nor taking our money to fix an inherent defect in product they sold and profited from. Take home lesson, is Toyota is not what it used to be, buy a Korean car as they are still worried about their reputation. More

We made contact with Ann-marie Roebuck by phone to give us a better understanding of what Germain offered. Later we made a service appt. Our visit was excellent. Ann-marie Roebuck took excellent care of our service needs - and even insured our car was given an excellent wash job. This was our first and only visit, but we have another appt already scheduled for 6 months from now. Great service and excellent attention to detail. More

She uses a "no pressure " approach which we appreciated. She knew what we were looking for, a Camry, and showed us the two models we were interested in, the LE and the SE. We test drove both models. We discussed all of the issues including the price and the lifetime power train warranty. Halina wanted a no interest loan and Dalia got 0% without us even asking for it. We did not tell her we wanted it. This was Halina's big issue. Mine was the lifetime Power Train warranty. This is the best new car buying experience we have ever had. More

Although we had bought one of our two Priuses at Germain years ago the one that needed the attention was purchased elsewhere. They were wonderful about our and our cars needs and we will be bringing in both of our Priuses (Prii? Priussees?) to Germain for all future work. If we step into Lexus, you can bet we will be coming to Germain. Thank you so very much. More
