This was a fantastic experience from beginning to end. The last time we purchased a vehicle was 8 years ago. That purchase and the one we had a few years before that were at different dealerships and while those experiences weren’t awful but they were challenging enough that it had me dragging my feet over the last 6 months on moving forward with the process of buying a new vehicle. Nick and the team at Gerald Hyundai made this so easy that I’m mad at myself for not reaching out to them sooner. That said, I know that we will be in the market for a vehicle again in the next year or so and can’t wait to work with this team again. No pressure, focus on customer satisfaction, and willingness to go the extra mile before, during, and after the sale. More
Do NOT buy from them and you would think we would’ve learned by now. Our latest purchase was a brand new 2024 Santa Fe. They didn’t give us a walk through inspection of the vehicle before signing papers learned by now. Our latest purchase was a brand new 2024 Santa Fe. They didn’t give us a walk through inspection of the vehicle before signing papers which we thought was odd and we questioned that. When we did the walk through, we discovered the vehicle has a huge scratch on the door and a chunk missing out of the panel of the passenger side door. Instead of getting us a different vehicle , they said it’s fine , we’ll take care of it. Well after that the loan they made us sign , didn’t go through . Mike chino ( the gm) took a verbal and the bank came back and said they needed to shorten the term length. We had to sign papers three different times because of their screw ups and with them having to work on a brand new car twice in less than 30 days of having it which in itself is ridiculous. So in addition to having a defective brand new car, we had to go back and resign new papers for a different loan. Then the finance guy tried to sell us off on some xx gap coverage that our insurance company has and covers for us for a lot less. This is another one of their scam tactics to make money off of us customers. Same with their extended warranty that comes standard with Hyundai . We dropped the car off to get fixed and whoever they used to fix the door actually made it worse and it was done half assed. So when we got the car back and drove it we noticed the door they allegedly fixed, started peeling away and looked worse than it did before. They have had the car for a week now and when my husband would call for updates, he wouldn’t get call backs and when Mike finally called him back it was oh we had to order the part and since it’s a new car we have no idea of when will get it in or how long it will take! Then he calls back and tells him oh well just pop the panel off a new car sitting on the lot and it’s an easy fix for our car that takes like six minutes. Then Mike proceeds to whine about how now he won’t be able to sell said car off the lot cuz they are taking a panel off of it , like that is our problem?!!! Maybe hire people that are actually qualified to fix cars! Mike takes no responsibility at all for what goes on at this dealership! He hasn’t offered to make or do anything right with this nightmare experience and we have now contacted our attorney to handle this ridiculous matter. My husband even asked him what are you going to do to make this right and his response was I gave you a loaner car. He gave us a crappy clown car that smells like fermented old perfume and isn’t even comparable to what we bought. The new car has been in the shop longer than it’s been on the road! No one should have to deal with the xx that goes on here. Not to mention the other cars we have bought from them have had problems with every single one of them. All they do here is lie lie and lie . Stay away from this dealership and for sure never use their service department. We will never buy from them again and hope others read these reviews and stay away from them!!! Absolutely disgusting treatment by Mike Chino, Ken Lew and Kyle Copeland with Gerald Service Department. In the last 6 months, my vehicle has needed a replacement motor, motor mounts, coil packs, transmis and Kyle Copeland with Gerald Service Department. In the last 6 months, my vehicle has needed a replacement motor, motor mounts, coil packs, transmission and transmission mounts. It is still broken, but the dealership is lying and saying there was an "incident" and they refuse to service my vehicle which is still under warranty. The only "incident" was that three of their employees, including Kyle and Ken, aggressively approached me regarding my concerns, unnecessarily escalating an already bad situation. My car has been in the shop on average of every 1500 miles for major repairs for the last four years. The service department is incompetent, dishonest, and incredibly rude. Do yourself a favor and go to Napleton, you won't get quality service from Gerald. You will get lied to, bullied and harassed. If you are looking to purchase, stay far away from Hyundai and the Gerald Group, unless you want to be treated like dirt. They do not value you as a customer. Also, please note that Mike Chino bribes people to remove bad reviews, which is why you don't see many listed here. More
Michael Chino and Pete M. got me the exact Pallisade that I was looking for. They didn't had the color I was looking for but Mike was able to get it within two hours. My Hyundai Tuscan has been at the Gerald Hyundai dealership for three weeks now. It needs a new engine and should be covered under warranty. I keep going back and forth with the service department a dealership for three weeks now. It needs a new engine and should be covered under warranty. I keep going back and forth with the service department and the manufacturer. Each week they keep asking for photos, more photos, now proof of oil change services, proof of registration, signing a form saying I've been the sole owner, and a copy of my drivers license. Why don't they already know this information? Each week it's something new they ask for. I feel like they are trying to find ways to get out of a warranty which is illegal and poor business practice. I have provided everything they have asked for. I will be contacting the Illinois Attorney General, Better Business Bureau, and Illinois Consumer Protection. This is not a way to build customer relationships. More
They hassle you throughout the sales experience to give a perfect score on the survey. When you answer honestly, you get 2 phone calls from the salesperson and 2 emails from the manager.
