I recently had a pleasant used car buying experience with this dealership. The salesman Julian was attentive and stayed on top of the deal while the details were being worked out. The service department is horrible from the advisors to The main service manager. Customer service is nonexistent, they do not communicate at any process of their service. There was oil left on top of the engine that could have been easily wiped clean. A used face mask was left on the floorboard, obviously they have no concern for customer safety in reguards to health with the Covid pandemic. The service manager did not come out of her office to address these issues and the "advisor" I was dealing with would not even look at me. I recommend going elsewhere for your vechicle needs. More
This is the worst place to get your vehicle serviced! I took my vehicle to get a part replaced the beginning of July and what happens the service advisor (Jared) scraped/bent the fender/bumper and rim of took my vehicle to get a part replaced the beginning of July and what happens the service advisor (Jared) scraped/bent the fender/bumper and rim of my vehicle against a concrete pillard and didn’t even tell me. I had to figure this out on my own. I went back and had to wait a day for them to check their cameras to see if it was actually true and it was. God forbid I scrape their vehicle, they would have had my head. I wanted to take it to a body shop I trusted but they had me take it to their Gene Messer body shop so it could be cheaper for them because the estimate I gave them was too much. Waited a couple of weeks to get my vehicle “fixed” and it was done poorly. The hood of my car is scratched, the trim on my bumper is misplaced and had spaces in between it and the bumper. Car was completely nasty on the inside. Screws aren’t even screwed in properly or are missing . Not painted right. Spent my on money on Hubers. Still waiting on my rim to get replaced because they couldn’t fix it. And their trying to find it cheap on their side. I’d give this place negative stars if I could. Worthless and lack of detail. Group 1 Automotive needs to get their services straightened out. Not satisfied one bit! More

This after an appointment set for 4 days earlier. Although present day difficulties are unique to all services and having worked in the auto service industry all my working life; there'd have been dismissal papers in my references for these customer abuses common to reviews of this dealership and my experience there. By far the worst place I have ever dealt with for any type of service!! I have been on the phone with them almost every day trying to get a loaner/rental vehicle since my 2020 6500 mile truck broke down. type of service!! After 2 1/2 weeks they finely get me a car and its they smallest (Chevy Spark) thing they can provide. Not something I want to put my 4 year old kids in if they even fit with car seats. None of the "service" people or manager return calls or provide any information. I have been in contact with GM Cooperate and THEY can't get them to return a phone call or provide any information as well. This dealership just does not care about taking care of people. 1 star is just to high of a rating for them. More

I bought a truck here in September 2020. During the sale I was told that since I was a new Chevy owner I would receive a free 5yr/60,000 mile warranty, an upgrade from the standard 3yr/36,000 mile warranty. Turns out that the warranty cost was hidden in a line item on my deal sheet that only had acronyms as a descriptor. I guess I can't prove it now but I know what happened. I also understand that I really should have questioned more. The salesman was alright but the finance guy was clearly proficient at pulling a fast one on people. Fast forward six months. and 10,941 miles. My brand new Chevy 1500 Z71 suddenly has a debilitating oil leak. I mean oil just cascading out of the seal/plate between the engine and transmission. Clearly warranty related. I have it towed to Gene Messer. I spoke with someone on the phone who assured me it would be quickly addressed that day. Well come to find out that person works at a Houston call center and has no idea what is going on at the Lubbock location, which I was told be my assigned service agent that I only know as Jared. Jared tells me it will be several days before it will get even diagnosed. Then he tells me all the loaners are out and they can't get me a rental. I don't have family here so my options are getting a rental for an undetermined period of time or being without transportation. I have a full time job and a small business so transportation is a must. Jared tells me that Chevy will reimburse up to $35/day for a rental if it is determined to be warranty related and I rent a GM vehicle from Enterprise. Well turns out you can't get a rental car or less than $60/day in Lubbock. So I am eating that. Then the truly infuriating part. Jared, who is supposed to be my primary contact for everything service related, completely ghosts me. It's now be four days with no response to texts or voicemails, much less him picking up the phone when I call. As I write this I have been on hold with the service department for 30 minutes. Now I understand that they couldn't have knowingly sold me a problem vehicle and that that is out of their control. But how they handled it from that point is entirely within their control. I should have had the vehicle towed to a small town dealership and I should have shopped elsewhere. Let my lessons guide you so you do not suffer the same consequences. More
My car was towed to Gene messer Chevrolet on the 19th of November. I have waited patiently for a courtesy call to let me know what the plan is. I would definitely not recommend this shop, nor would I purchase a vehicle here. More
