I purchased a 1948 Studebaker Commander in the Louisville Ky showroom (Memphis In.) The car would not start because of a bad battery. It took about 2 hours of waiting before I could hear it run and drive it. More

This gentleman did not receive a car without a carburetor or brakes. If he did he should have contacted us at the time he took possession and we would have helped him question the shipper. This car ran and drove as shown in our video and was missing nothing. He had us start it with him while he listened on the phone so he knows it was running before he wired the money. The shipper drove the car onto the trailer with no issues. A car with no carburetor would not run at all. Look at the pictures and video, and you can plainly see a carburetor in the pictures. This car was very nicely built. Why is a bad review the first we are hearing about this 4 months later? We were never told the car didn’t run, was missing parts, etc. Here is link to our sold inventory where you may view the MGB. - http://gatewayclassiccars.com/cars-sold

This customer bought a car from us in our Louisville Showroom. He made an offer that was accepted by the owner of the vehicle, and had it shipped to his house. Weeks later he calls in saying that he wants money back because the car is not numbers matching as advertised. Concerned, we got in touch with his mechanic who sent us all of the numbers off the engine and they all matched what it should be, including the partial VIN stamping. We let him know that the car was numbers matching along with copies of the sources used to verify this information. He then called and said that it was not actual mileage of 61,XXX due to 1 receipt out of a stack of receipts showing “79,000” miles. We advised him that we highly doubted the car had 79,000 miles exactly when it went in for this service and that it could have very easily been a typo or someone misread 59,XXX miles. We sent him a copy of the title where the state of Kentucky shows actual mileage on the vehicle, and a copy of the SELLER’S signed statement that the car was actual mileage. The vehicle was owned by the seller’s best friend until he passed away, at which time our seller bought it from his friend’s wife to relieve some of her burden. He knew the car since it was brand new, and knows it is actual mileage of 61,XXX. I passed this information on to the buyer who called and said “I knew you wouldn’t do anything to help me! You’ll be hearing from my lawyer!” As a licensed dealer we feel that we did everything to resolve the situation. Our customer's only concern expressed to us was that he bought a car that was SUPPOSED to be actual mileage and numbers matching and he was upset that it wasn’t. We proved that it was, which should have settled the dispute and given the customer exactly what he wanted.
