If you’d like my advice, ask for Trey Cate. You can trust him to be honest, not just make empty promises to appease you in the moment. Can’t ask for much more than that in my opinion! I have two main issues with my van purchase and contract with Gary Smith Ford. Although my wife and I have called repeatedly to resolve this we have received no phone response. After several months of calls with Gary Smith Ford. Although my wife and I have called repeatedly to resolve this we have received no phone response. After several months of calls, I finally emailed the owner and the head of sales. I will cover that later in this review. TWO MAIN ISSUES: Issue One: Predelivery Service Charge ($999.95) - Failed or Incompetent Issue Two: Switching Bumper to Bumper coverage to PowerTrain One: After purchasing the van we noticed a loud vibration and noise from the A/C unit when we turned it up to full. We took it to our local Firestone dealer who pulled out the cabin filter. It was filled with leaves and debris. We returned to the dealer for a second service inspection of the vehicle. Later we had a problem with the tires. On the return trip from dropping my pregnant daughter and three grandchildren at the airport, the van began shimmying and my wife had to pull over on the busy freeway. One of the tires was coming apart. A state trooper changed the tire for the donut for her. She went in to have the tire replaced only to discover that all the tires had dry rot or were coming apart. She had to replace all four tires. Discount Tire told her the van should never have been sold with tires in that condition. When I spoke with the head salesperson he asked if I checked the tires before we bought the van. I answered, "Why would I? I trusted you to be a reputable dealer." We have repeatedly requested a copy of the $999.95 Predelivery inspection and have yet to receive that copy. Although, we have been promised several times over the phone that they would send it. They did send a CarFax report. I could have gotten that off the internet. Two: From the beginning of our negotiations we wanted Bumper-to-Bumper coverage. The salesperson told us if we took the Ford version of the Bumper-to-Bumper we could switch it out in a few weeks when a new vendor would be coming onboard. The coverage would be more extensive and cheaper. They would contact us at that time so we could make the switch. When the final contract signing came in the finance manager told us he was going to have to do a bit of "tweaking" to get the contract approved. He got it approved. We signed. We later discovered he had switched the Bumper-to-Bumper to Powertrain. Something that had never been in the discussion. The original salesman who sold us on the bumper-to-bumper said he never recommends the powertrain as it is so much more limited. Nowhere on the contract does it say "PowerTrain'. It says "Ford - $2,150.00". After months of calls and several emails (one of them to the owner who never responded), I finally got a response to an email I sent to the head of sales. He asked for my recommendation for a solution. I sent that response on 12-8-24 and another on 12-20-24. I have not heard back. I purchased the van on 7-11-2024. I paid $999.95 for what I consider a failed or inadequate pre-inspection and received a different coverage than requested for $2,150.00. I am very disappointed. More

I was on vacation at Rosemary Beach when my car died in the middle of the road. Getting the car towed back to where I was staying was a process. I was advised to get then it towed to AutoNation Ford Panama City. They were not helpful and did not care that I was out of town and had no vehicle. The best they could do was an argument and no appointment until the end of the month. I then called Gary Smith Ford and spoke to Amanda. She was so sweet and understood the pickle I was in. She got my car towed that day and fixed it that afternoon. She even had the shuttle pick us up, an hour and 30 minutes away. Getting there I got my keys from Lynette who was also so sweet and understanding. I owed nothing due to the warranty and was able to have a vehicle. Amanda helped me so much and saved my vacation from a potentially bigger mess. Best Ford I have ever delt with! More
I purchased my vehicle and a extended warranty from Gary Ford. I have had all of my oil changes and a few recalls taken care of there. I would say most of my experiences with the service department has been Ford. I have had all of my oil changes and a few recalls taken care of there. I would say most of my experiences with the service department has been below average but this last visit will be my last. I made a appointment for some issues that I was having with the vehicle. Making the appointment was the only thing that went well. I dropped my car off at 8am and they were already 5 cars deep at the service drop off. While waiting at the counter trying to drop my keys off there was an angry customer trying to find out whether his vehicle was completed from the day before. Apparently he wasn't updated on his vehicles status and couldn't get threw to the service center so he just showed up the next morning. His car was completed just never notified. After dropping my keys off and catching a ride home. I figured that I would hear from the service department sometime that day about the status of my vehicle. Maybe they would need to order parts, possibly take longer to repair it. As it got later in the Afternoon and I hadn't heard anything I decided to click on a link that they sent me that gives you the status of your vehicle. The app said that my car was still being serviced and it gives you the name of the service member that took your car in and that would be communicating with you. I decided to call the service member. It's a hour drive for me to get there and the service department was closing in two hours. I needed to find out if and how long that I would have to make other arrangements to get back and forth to work. I couldn't get through to anyone in the service department so I left a message with the service member in charge of my vehicle and emailed the service department asking for an update. I didn't receive any reply. The next day I tried calling again. Couldn't get through left another message. Nothing the app says my car is being serviced. I decided to catch a ride over to find out what's going on. When I get there my car is in the lot and I'm told that they haven't had a chance to look at it yet. While waiting in line another customer was getting the same run around that I was and after she left the service member that was waiting on her proceeded to bash her to the next customer. I ended up leaving my vehicle there. I did receive a call and text the next day saying my car was ready. It was never fixed they ended up needing to order parts to repair it. I was told that they would call me when the parts come in. That was over a week ago. To top it all off while picking my car up the lost my keys and ended up waiting 30 minutes for them to find them.
