I recently purchased a new Hyundai Santa Fe from Garvey Hyundai. My salesperson was Brian Baker. I was very pleased with Brian's knowledge and assistance in helping me find the new vehicle. There was no pressuring me to purchase just any car to get a sale. Basically, I would have to say that the reason that I chose to purchase from Garvey Hyundai was Brian. I decided in March to trade in my 2014 GMC for something my wife could drive if need be. My truck was spotless with 69,000 miles, dealer serviced and with all the service records. I first thought I would try a Toyota Highlander due to the reputation they have achieved. I went to Della in Plattsburgh, where they offered $4,000 below average book and told me that my truck would never sell. I then went to two Toyota dealers in VT who told me the same thing. When my wife went with me for a test drive at a VT dealer, she really didn't like the Highlander. I was actually told "If you think it is worth the book, sell it yourself and come buy ours" by all three dealers. I was definitely done with any Toyota. I stopped at Della Honda and was offered and told the same thing. I decided to keep the truck. My sons told me to try Hyundai because they are great vehicles. I had just about had enough of car dealers, but thought I would give it one more try. I stopped at Garvey Hyundai in Plattsburg in early May, talked to Scott who is honest, friendly, helpful and straightforward, and finally found a car dealer that made me feel that they actually wanted my business and that I was correct about the value of my truck. I was told by both Scott, my salesman, and Mark, the Appraiser, that my truck would be sold within a week. They offered me the book value and I traded with them within an hour. Of course, I had to reserve my Santa Fe, but it was more than worth the wait. My Santa Fe Limited came in on June 9th, and we went to pick it up on the 10th. Unfortunately, there was an unexpected problem with the vehicle. The part needed to fix it was back ordered. They gave me a low mileage 2020 Santa Fe loaner that was very nice. When the part became back-ordered again, Scott and Mark called me and told me that a Calligraphy model with the same color and an even nicer interior color would be at their dealership before the part would arrive and they offered to upgrade me. I told them I would take it. Our Calligraphy came in this week and it is incredible. The Limited was an incredible vehicle, the Calligraphy is even nicer. I have owned Audis and Cadillacs and I can truthfully say that this Sante Fe is nicer than both. The deal they gave me to upgrade was unbelievable. This dealership and their personnel treated me better than I expected any dealer would. They went out of their way to make sure that I was taken care of, even though it was a problem they could neither have anticipated nor controlled. I was ready to forgo any car dealers after my visits to the Toyota and Honda dealers. I simply planned on driving my GMC for at least 8 more years. I have dealt with numerous dealers over my long car buying life. Garvey Hyundai North is, by far, the very best I have ever dealt with. If I ever decide to trade this Santa Fe (it will be a long time) I will visit them again. As an end note, the GMC that the Toyota and Honda dealers said would never sell, was gone from the Garvey lot in less than 24 hours. I play music all over the Northeast now and I have been singing Garvey Hyundai North's praises at every festival I play. More
In April, 2022, I decided to trade in my 2014 GMC Sierra for a mid-sized SUV. I needed something my wife could drive if need be, and my truck was simply too large for her to feel comfortable driving. I decided, at first, to trade for a Toyota Highlander. It was the right size and Toyota’s reputation is very good. My GMC had 69,000 miles, was dealer maintained and was in showroom condition. I first went to the local Della Toyota dealer. They were very happy to let me test drive the $55,000 plus Highlander. It was a nice vehicle so we began the process of negotiating a deal. I was offered $4,000 below average book for my vehicle because, “Nobody wants a truck that old and we will have a hard time selling it.” I left Della feeling as if they perceived me to be less than intelligent. I did visit two other Toyota dealers in VT that had basically the same attitude. I was actually told that, if I thought my truck was worth the book value, I should sell it and simply buy their vehicle which, according to them, would be sold quickly because there was such a high demand. One Toyota dealer even suggested that I remove the $3000 cap and take less for the truck. My wife went to VT with me and did not like the Highlander’s handling, ride or noise level. I decided I would try one more Plattsburgh dealer and stopped at Della Honda. Since I did not want to waste my time, nor theirs, I asked for a trade in value offer up front. Since Della owns both Honda and Toyota here, I was once again offered $4000 below low book and told to sell it and buy theirs if I didn’t like that. I decided to stay away from car dealers and simply keep my GMC for 8 more years. My sons convinced me to stop in at Garvey Hyundai North and look at the Santa Fe. I took their advice and am happy I did. Not only is the Santa Fe much nicer than the Highlander or Passport, Garvey’s staff is far better to deal with. My salesman, Scott, made me feel welcome and exuded honesty right away. He assured me that my truck would not stay on their lot for long. Mark Allen, the appraiser, told me the same thing. They actually made me feel as if they wanted my business. They offered me the book value for my truck and we made a deal within an hour. I traded for the Limited Edition, which was slated to arrive in early June. It did come in on June 9th and my wife and I drove it on the 10th. I have owned an Audi and a Cadillac and this was nicer than both of them. Unfortunately, there was a problem discovered after the trade had been completed. The part needed to rectify the problem was on back order from Hyundai. It was nothing that we noticed during the test drive and nothing that Garvey could control or have any knowledge of at the time. They put me in a 2020 Santa Fe to drive until the problem was resolved. The part was repeatedly put on back order by Hyundai (supply chain problems are an unfortunate part of today’s world). Scott and Mark called me on June 22nd and told me a Calligraphy model Santa Fe in the same color was due at the dealership around mid-July, before the part would be here. They asked if I would like to upgrade to that one. I certainly did. The Calligraphy came in and we took delivery today. The deal they gave me, because of the inconvenience, was unbelievable. The vehicle is absolutely gorgeous and incredibly comfortable. I have never been treated this well by any car dealership in my very many years of buying cars. I play music all over the Northeast during the summer and have been singing the praises of Garvey Hyundai North and their staff at every festival. End note; my GMC sold in less than 24 hours. Guess the Toyota salesmen were wrong. One more thing. My experience at Garvey North was actually fun. Scott is honest, friendly, very helpful and straightforward. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. If you need a good car, and a pleasant buying experience, get yourself over to Garvey Hyundai North. More

Garvey Hyundai really opened my eyes to what’s out there. I was about to purchase a car that was a 2019 for only $1,000 cheaper. With 5x less amount of features as the 2022 Elantra! That on my part would have been a dumb decision if I went with the Honda Civic. They are a very professional place to go when looking for a car. Also they won’t screw you over like most will. I hear all the time that sales consultants are not your friend but Hyundai Garvey and Kris Carver specifically it wasn’t like that. He gave me my options. He showed me the numbers. Calculated and showed me face to face. Didn’t just say oh yeah this is a better deal just because, he actually proved it. In the end I made out with a cheaper monthly payment for a 10x better car!! I couldn’t be more pleased with the service I received from kris carver. So really thank you Hyundai Garvey for your excellent experience! I do truly appreciate it! More
