Notice no response to the brakes and he doesn't even know what I traded in. I was upside on my loan by about $1500 which was 4 payments. What does that have to do with the service I rec'd? Nothing! There was not an as is sign just a wholesale sign which at this point was over the value of the truck.

*We did respond privately to the customer and wanted to share our response publicly. Satisfied customers are a high priority at our dealership and wish we could have worked this out. Mr. (removed name to respect his privacy), I received your review this morning noting that you were upset. I reviewed your deal to see what exactly the circumstances were. You purchased an S10 that was part of our "Wholesale Direct" program. This program puts up for sale vehicles that we would not normally retail. As was the case with your S10, vehicles in this program frequently have over 100,000 miles on them and are not in perfect condition. This would have been clearly explained at the time of purchase. Not only that, but often there are tags hanging from the mirrors stating that these vehicles are sold "as is" and that any comfort or convenience features that you want repaired must be negotiated in at time of purchase. To be sold in this program, the vehicle must pass NY state inspection and not have any glaring issues that would make us uncomfortable selling it. In this case, we couldn't have known that you would have so many issues with your transmission, or the vehicle in general. As you stated, it's a good thing we were able to finance in the extended warranty. With regard to the all-wheel drive, I'm not sure which vehicle you are referring to, because an S10 comes with a dedicated 4-wheel drive system and many are equipped with an automatic 4-wheel drive button, which will kick the system in and out as needed. I have personally owned an S10 with this feature and found that it worked excellent on slippery roads and wintery conditions. Another aspect of this purchase was that you owed a significant amount over what your Santa Fe was worth at the time of purchase. The S10 was the only vehicle we had, at that time, that we could wipe out your negative equity and get you into a different vehicle of your choosing. Either way, if you are unhappy with the vehicle, I would be happy to work with you to help trade you out of the S10 and into something else. I will absolutely respond to the brake issue. The vehicle was purchased in September 2012. As you mentioned, we did put brake pads on the vehicle. At that time, brake pads were all that was nessesary, as the rotors were in good shape. If you've only driven the vehicle 5000 miles in just shy of a year, the weather we've been having could definitely cause your brakes to seize. A vehicle that sits in this kind of humidity will begin to corrode and parts will begin to seize. With regard to the vehicle you traded towards the S10, I know exactly what you traded and all the numbers involved. However, in the end, it's not important to me that we continue to discuss who is right and who is wrong. At the end of the day, what's important is that you are not happy with the car. Since that is the case, give me a call or email me so that we can look at options for trading you out of that car and into something you will be more happy with.
