Easiest purchase I have ever made. He gave me a quote by email. I called and he confirmed the price and the car as being available. We set the appointment time and as promised, Mel had the car ready and wai email. I called and he confirmed the price and the car as being available. We set the appointment time and as promised, Mel had the car ready and waiting. After a nice test drive we sat down to do the paperwork and the biggest surprise was the fact there weren't any surprises! The numbers didn't change one single penny. I don't have the best credit and I thought for sure this is where they "get me". Well, after filling out the credit application, and waiting for 30 minutes or so, Mel informed me of the rate. Once again, my expectations were exceeded. I got credit for the rebate and a rate lower than the so called "special factory" rate..Seriously, the only minor detail was I missed a signature. Both Steve and Eugene were very helpful. Six days later, I received a thank you letter from my old lender on my trade. I have had bad experiences at other dealers. Not here. I believe if you treat other people right, they should treat you the same. And that is exactly what happened. Mrs. Hughes. More
I purchase a vehicle from this dealer, on my 1st visit the problems started.I research the vehicle on-line found a great price, visit the dealer and the vehicle match, but was sticker price was $3000 over the problems started.I research the vehicle on-line found a great price, visit the dealer and the vehicle match, but was sticker price was $3000 over, so the salesman walk us around the lot for another vehicle when suddenly my son fell in a sprinkler system buried underground full of disgusting water. we had to leave the dealer because my son was soaking wet from feet to knees.we explain to the salesman about our misfortune and their safety issue that the cover for the box was not secure, we then visit the dealer 5 days later when at this time i had a print-out of the car that the price was under 20k. They claim that their internet people mistakenly price it wrong. I advise them of California state dept. of weights and measures. were they oversee pricing well we were walking out when the salesman ran out to catch us fearing the fine from the state.we purchase the car and advise the general manager about the shoes being destroy. he claim he send the check, however wrong name and wrong address. his story sound it fake and claims the check was cashed and no other check will be issue, we are talking about $50 bucks kids shoes, their fault, their mistake and he will rest this issue. His customer service was horrible I felt like Jesus being crucify with 9inch nails. Purchased a used vehicle from dealer. Transaction was pleasant and the salesperson was very professional. Had several follow up items on the vehicle that had to go through their service department. Night pleasant and the salesperson was very professional. Had several follow up items on the vehicle that had to go through their service department. Nightmare. Either they are incompetent or liars. Not repairing the obvious items probably because it was more expensive. Curious how they could test drive the vehicle after their repairs and call it cured when the problem was still obviously existing. Ended up taking it to another dealer and paid for the work myself. Curing the safety of the vehicle was more important than trying to manuever through either their incompetence or deceipt. Had another issue with the belts squealing. Looks like they sprayed some lubricant on it to temporarily quiet the sound stating there was some water on the belts. Sound came back when i got home 15 minutes later. More
My husband and I went to Ford of Orange on recommendation of a good friend who purchased their car there. My husband is VERY particular about the cars we buy, and the follow-up "service" we expect to receiv of a good friend who purchased their car there. My husband is VERY particular about the cars we buy, and the follow-up "service" we expect to receive. In the 32 years we have been married, this is the 12th car we have purchased. We can HONESTLY say, without reservation, that this transaction today with CHRIS PRATT was a "Car-Buyers-Dream"! It was the VERY BEST interaction EVER with a salesperson and for that we are grateful to CHRIS. He was a "soft sell" .... showing us everything he could on the SUV in the time spent together, and did NOT "push" us whatsoever. His only comment was ... “I just want to tell you, this combination (grey exterior, with pecan interior) goes very fast." With that, and at our request, he walked away giving us time to have a private conversation. Within 15 minutes, we were back in his office with our approval to proceed with the purchase paperwork. We loved the idea of dealing with ONE PERSON ONLY. In the past we have been "shifted" from one person to another before our transaction was complete. That never sits well with us and it did NOT happen today. It is QUITE OBVIOUS that Chris "knows his stuff" and we were very comfortable with every step taken in the paperwork process. CHRIS PRATT is an absolute asset to this organization. Rest assured that we will HIGHLY RECOMMEND CHRIS and Ford of Orange to any family member or friend who might want to purchase a Ford (or other vehicle) in the future. The 70+ mile trip from our home in North San Diego County was well-worth the drive in the money we saved, and the personnel encountered. More
These other poor reviews here are right on, although I'm pretty good at battling with dealers so I can navigate their sales games to get what I want, and I did. I went in to purchase on of their loss-leade pretty good at battling with dealers so I can navigate their sales games to get what I want, and I did. I went in to purchase on of their loss-leader's, they did what you'd expect from a sleazy dealer--that is, refuse to sell you the loss-leader. So after much battling, pitching a fit in the middle of their showroom floor and threatening to get BBB and DCA involved they finally agreed to sell me the loss-leader. I would only recommend this dealer if you find one of their chance good deals such as their loss-leader and you are savvy at negotiating, and know vehicles well and how to do your due-diligence to check out a vehicle before purchase. Otherwise, they are definitely not what I'd characterize as honest or friendly whatsoever. In the end, I'm very happy with my vehicle I purchased and the price I got it for, but Ford of Orange is a miserable bunch to deal with. Also, they put electronic immobilizers on all their vehicles to protect their inventory. Then instead of removing it they try to upsell it to you as a security system. Watch out! Most vehicles already have a security system from the factory, so their immobilizer is redundant, DON'T BUY IT! What's worse, they told me I'd have to return the next day to get it removed from my vehicle. I got the vehicle home, and it disabled my vehicle in my driveway! I couldn't start my own vehicle I just purchased! I called them, and they were good about promptly having someone call me back and he walked me over the phone through the process of disabling the immobilizer. Then I just physically removed the immobilizer unit from the vehicle myself so I didn't have to return to the dealer the next day. When they install the immobilizer, they splice into the vehicle's factory wiring harness in about a half-dozen places. It's easy enough to patch the splices if you're mechanically inclined like I am, but it still bothers me that the factory wiring harness was butchered by their stupid immobilizer. More
This place fits every scam in the auto trade book. I dont know how Ford has not yanked their dealership out from under them. I purchased a 2011 Ford Flex from them with a sticker price of 43,000 dollars and know how Ford has not yanked their dealership out from under them. I purchased a 2011 Ford Flex from them with a sticker price of 43,000 dollars and traded in a 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX that was flawless. They told me they would give me what I owed on the subaru which was 17,000 and they would give me the car for 41000. We had to fight with them for four hours about the contract and walked out once. They lied to us so much it was ridiculous. Even the finance guy Gene was a liar. I just found out today that they switched the contract in our paperwork and screwed me again for 1,300 dollars more. So after my 5,000 dollar down and my Subaru I still owe 43,000 dollars on the car. when they told me I would owe 41,000. Watch out these guys are huge scammers, make the drive to Raceway Ford so you can get treated like a human being. I went in proud of Ford for not having taken any money from the government and honestly that is the only reason I bought this vehicle for my wife being a previous and Current Toyota owner, but oh well you live and learn and can see why America is sinking, because of people and businesses like this one! We visited FOO on 12/29/10.My phone contact, Mel Johnson, was busy and gave us to Phillip Bartlet. I explained what we wanted, our trade and what we expected the out-the-door price to be. They took our keys was busy and gave us to Phillip Bartlet. I explained what we wanted, our trade and what we expected the out-the-door price to be. They took our keys and registration to evaluate our trade. I told them to lock the vehicle after their inspection. After about 30 minutes, I went out to our car and found it unlocked and unattended. The asst. mgr., Doug Boulton, came to meet us and had a printout of the sale. I asked where the payoff to Ford was. Doug said their search indicated a clear title. I told him I knew there was a small balance left. Another search found the account. They offered a dealer discount of $4,000.00, the available Ford rebates and my trade-in.They were $1,600.00 higher that I expected, so I said were leaving, but would keep in touch. When I asked for my keys and registration back, I noticed they had written the payoff and date in ink on the front of the registration. They tried to hard sell us, but we left. On 01/07/11, I received a call from an internet sales agent, Carol Strukel, asking when we could visit the dealership. I explained we already had and they were $1,600.00 higher than we were willing to pay. She said she would tell her boss, Mel Johnson, to call me. She felt we could make a deal. Mel called and I explained the situation. After several phone calls, he called on 01/08/10 and said the manager said we had a deal and we should come in.That afternoon we went to FOO. They redid the paperwork(said it was lost) and came back with the paperwork showing the price we had agreed on.I asked Phillip where the Ford payout was. He was vague and said this only showed the final amount with or without rebates. We decided on a Ford credit plan and were turned over to the finance agent. He asked me for the pink slip and I told him there was still a small balance THEY had written on my registration. He said there was a problem and went to find Mel.Mel came in and claimed they didn't know there was any amount due.I reminded him that on 12/29/10 they knew and the salesperson knew. Mel disgustedly threw the registration on the desk and left. About 5 minutes later Tom Ivers,David Wilson's trainer for sales agents came in. He was arrogant and acted as if they were doing us a favor. He told me there was no way they could make this deal. They couldn't take more off the new vehicle or give more for my trade. I asked him why, since the dealer discount had increased by $2,000.00, they were now higher than last week.He said it was a simple mistake and they would eat $500.00 and recalculate our payments. He was "old school", yelling at us and belittling us for not being reasonable. I said no, but he took our registration and left. I demanded my registration and keys and after about 5 minutes, they returned them and we left. I had done exhaustive internet research on the vehicles and where they were located. Only after we were treated so badly, did we researched the dealer online. The negative comments in the other reviews apply. They'll say aything to get you into the dealership, will try to hard sell you into a deal, change prices in the finance office and make you feel like the xxxx of the earth for not signing.
