Well I thought car dealers were in business to sell cars. I was obviously wrong. I test drove an Aviator today and was not ready to commit. They made me and offer and I said I would let them know. Just 2 hours later I said I would take it and bring them a check. They told me they would not honor the quote unless I finaced with them. They would need to run my credit through several agencies to see if they could get a good rate. I do not need them to run my credit through agencies to get a good rate when I could pay cash. They said would not honor the offer at all because they were loosing money and things change in 2 hours (that's just business) they said... What a shame it will be sitting on the lot instead of taking full payment and having one less car to sell. Can't say that was a good move on their part. Not the only game in town. Granted it was also not exactly what I wanted but it was acceptable. Trying to force someone to finace with them when there is no need is not good business. Would have been happy to take the deal after two hours of thought and then telling me things change in two hours is not any way to do business either. Obviously, not the place to buy. Very dissapointed in their sales manager and finance manger. Very sneaky sales practices. More
