When we entered the dealership, nobody came to greet us. Some employees were standing around --from the parts department?--but they made no move to get help for us and just kept on talking among themselves. The one we eventually found had only been there a week and seemed more focused on getting a sale than on meeting our needs. He did no tinspire trust. For example, he opened the trunk and declared it very spacious, even though we were looking at a hybrid whose trunk size was lessened, considerably, by the battery packs. We ended up going to a different dealership and buying from them. Apparently others have done likewise. More
We drove the 8 hours round trip from NC to Charlottesville, VA to get the good deal on our new 2012 Prius plug in. These were not sold or available in our state. The advertised deal on the Internet was super and this dealership honored the deal. and had it ready when we arrived. The folks at Brown had a great attitude , which is wonderful for Christmas shopping. More
I am in the market for a new pick-up truck in the near future. I've visited a couple of dealerships do get an idea what would benefit my needs the most; and was really impressed with the courtesy, patienc future. I've visited a couple of dealerships do get an idea what would benefit my needs the most; and was really impressed with the courtesy, patience, knowledge, courtesy and listening skills that Mr. Ed Matzel showed. I have informed him that I would just like to take a walk around the dealer lot and get a closer look at the Toyota trucks; I have also let him know that I would not be buying a truck today so I would hate to waste his time and if he has someone else (that could potentially purchase a vehicle today) that he needs to attend to, that would be perfectly fine with me. He assured me that I am not wasting his time and he made my visit a very pleasant one. He showed me around the dealer lot, talked to me about my vehicle needs, informed me about the vehicles and even offered me to take one of the trucks for a test drive (knowing that I would definitely not purchase one today). I did test drive a Toyota Tacoma Regular Cab and was impressed with it. I have visited a lot of dealerships, in quite a few cities around the country, and made a few vehicle purchases; I can definitely say that this was one of the best, if not the best, visits. I will recommend this dealership and especially Mr. Ed Matzel to anyone I know. Again, I wish that more sales people would be like Mr. Ed Matzel; knowing when to talk and when to listen, he is a perfect example of what a Car Sales Consultant should be like. Regards, FM More

I'm an international student from Thailand and I come to US to study at Darden. I would like to buy a used car so that I visit Brown toyota and meet the salesperson named Ed Matzel. Since I'm an internation US to study at Darden. I would like to buy a used car so that I visit Brown toyota and meet the salesperson named Ed Matzel. Since I'm an international student here, I am not familiar with the process and regulations. However, Ed gave me supports that far exceed expectation to help me get things done. For example, he help me with insurance, which i'm quite confuse with the process, and also the driver license application. All in All, I'm really appreciate Ed service and would recommend to anyone who want to buy whether used or new car to pay a visit at Brown Toyota, Charlottesville and look for a salesperson name Ed Matzel. We purchased our Sienna from Brown in 2006. Since then, we have taken it to Brown for every service (maintenance and repair) it's needed. So, I estimate my car has been there for service no less than 20 times, Each and every time, Brown's service department has exceeded my expectations, from the scheduling on the phone, checking in, the wait experience, shuttle service, explanations of repair, and the speed of getting me back in my van. They take service seriously and seem to find ways to continually improve the process for their customers Even when the service department was undergoing remodel construction last year, the service department continued to deliver their high standard of friendliness and efficiency with the desk moved into the freezing cold bay entrance. They didn't seem to miss a beat. I'd especially like to recognize and thank our go-to service representative, Jay Malone, for his service to us over these six years. Jay is a top notch professional who does an amazing job of bridging the gap between service rep and service technician. He knows exactly how to communicate recommended repair or maintenance work in a way that makes sense to non-car people without being arrogant or condescending. We treats his customers with kindness and respect. He's trustworthy and ensures that his customers and their cars are taken care of well in the time frame promised. His even keel personality is a pleasure to work with. He recognizes us when we call and has a caring smile when we come in. Because of Jay, we feel like part of the Brown Family. Even though Brown has other highly competent service advisors, we always ask for Jay when we can because we know we will receive great service. He sets the standard. I also think Brown's prices are very fair. A couple times, I've called around town to other shops when we've needed specific repair work. And always, Brown's prices were right in line and their service is so stellar. They send coupons and special offers in the mail and email and on their website, so it makes it affordable. I wouldn't dream of taking it anywhere else, even for an oil change. At times, I have wished I could have a loaner car - a service they don't typically offer while other shops in town do. However, Brown's shuttle service is wonderful. The shuttle drivers are courteous and always on time. The waiting room at Brown is a very pleasant experience, with comfortable furniture, wi-fi, tv, complimentary drinks and snacks, and a kids room. Like the commercial says, Brown Brown Brown, we love the service. More
