After those crooks try to extort 2,000 of repairs on my sons' car two years running, I took my business on my two Subarus to local garages. Took my Outback this morning - not only are services 30/40 pc lower cost, but there express surprise to see how many services were done 'early' (read totally unnecessary) on my Outback over the past three years. Shame on you Fitzgerald, you're a bunch of shameless thieves. More

I was told it's because I didn't purchase the tires there. I just told them to put air in, so I can be on my way and took it back to my dealership. If you are operating under the Subaru umbrella you should take care of your customers regardless of where a vehicle was purchased etc. I have made calls to speak with a manager and have not received a call yet Very disappointing. So a service writer at Fitzgerald Subaru this morning would not perform any service on my Toyota 86. I asked for an oil change and explicitly said I want nothing more. Cited some of the below... "We WiLl NoT sErViCe ThAt BeCaUsE iT iS a ToYoTa" etc. etc. After informing him literally 99% of the car is Subaru, the entire engine is from Subaru, and "IT IS ONLY AN OIL CHANGE," I tried to push him on by asking "why?" to just about every one of his nonsense remarks, to which he [Fitzgerald Subaru] was confrontational and rude. Anyways, not a nice guy, and clearly had no clue what he was talking about, thus the review here. Preface to all of this, is I took my car to their sister Toyota store and they said it would take several hours for a basic oil change on a walk-in wait job, so I said never mind. Subaru is only a mile away, on my way home, so I stopped by. I had my GR 86 serviced at this same Subaru dealer with a different service writer a few months ago for the same (Toyota wait time) reason as above, (paying out of pocket, regardless of store, btw.) , and had a great experience with a different service writer. Point being: If you don't want the work, or are worried it is going to be a hassle because [insert nonsense reason here], just say it, don't be rude to customers. I will never be back to any Fitzgerald store as a result. More
Generally a competent team and front office. Have been taking my 5 year old Outback to them since it was purchased there. Went for a minor non-standard issue (roof rack crossbar). Disappointed with the taking my 5 year old Outback to them since it was purchased there. Went for a minor non-standard issue (roof rack crossbar). Disappointed with the lack of willingness to even have a technician come and take a look before letting me know how long it might take. Did not mind paying the minimum ($76 - plus plus) to get the problem fixed. Just that there was no effort to take a quick look- despite having called in advance and being told to come it at 1:00 as I did. Kevin could do with some more training - competent front office guy - but no ability to discern a big from small issue - just sticks to secretarial playbook. Enough with Fitzgerald Subaru. Next stop a third party service company or Herb Gordon. Seems to be better rated. More

Where to start… I am really disappointed with the service I received on 2/15/2021. I took my 2010 Subaru forester in for a factory recall. While there I asked them to check out my tires as I was having some issue with them holding air. After a few hours of waiting, I was informed that there were nails in my tire that couldn’t be repaired. Further, that all the sensors in my tires need replaced too. This struck me funny, since the tire sensors had been fully functional prior to my visit. In fact, they informed me when the tires were low, and once inflated, the indicator light would go away. In short, functioning just as sensors should. The quote for new tires and sensors was outrageous! Like $2,000+ The car is worth about $6,000 dollars, so the expense seemed astronomically out of proportion. I didn’t even let them get done with the list of things that they would have to do to replace the tires and sensor. I thought it was a rip of and said I’d like to bring it somewhere else. I think some of your mechanics/staff may be crooked or incompetent. When they returned my car, I am pretty sure that the tires they put back on my car were different (worse) tires. I can’t prove this. I don’t have detailed pics of the tire before and after. The tires were cracked and there were calk lines on them in certain places. In addition, the sensors were no longer working, which I found out after I left the dealership. I took the car to NCB and got the job done for half the price. They had replaced tires on my car before, perhaps 3 or 4 years ago. I remember then requesting that I keep the old tire and they said that they ‘lost’ them. I was sketched then, and I should have learned my lesson. I shouldn’t have gone back this time. Even though they are the closest, most convenient Subaru service center to me, I must now consider driving farther away just to get better service. I went to the Cumberland MD location once and they were top notch! Back to last Monday’s visit. The clinger is that after about 3+ hours of waiting, they inform me that my air bags are ok… somehow and don’t need to be replaced. This is despite the recall letters received. I was too mad to even argue. What a waste of my day. Be warned. Go elsewhere if you can! More

Rich not only handled everything fairly but he also went above and beyond to provide us with good old fashioned customer service and to make sure that everything was done properly. This was work well done and very much appreciated. Thank you, Fitzgerald Subaru Rockville. More

This is the second Subaru I've purchased from Fitzgerald's because of the good customer service and the reliability of the Subaru brand. I was not disappointed on this visit. Rich Sukhram in the service department took extra steps to make sure the service was covered under warranty and kept me informed of the work progress and what needed to be done. I certainly appreciated the attention he provided to make this another satisfying visit. Thank you, Rich. Kathleen Finnegan More
