So, I went on the Internet and st My issues with FIRST HYUNDAI of NORTH ATTLEBORO : Story I had been thinking of getting a new vehicle, maybe an SUV. So, I went on the Internet and started to look. It's amazing once you do this how many dealers grab on. I started at a local Kia dealer. I looked at the Kia Sportage. I took it for a ride. It was nice. I went over, with a salesman, what the price would be. I had with me a certificate from Truecar pricing. They honored the price and gave me the Kelly Blue Book for my trade. I told them that I have to bring my girlfriend by to look at it. We both went back and took it for a ride. We told them we were leaving for vacation the next day and we will talk to them when we get back. While we were on vacation we both decided that it was small and felt cramped for an SUV. Meanwhile on vacation, I received 215 phone calls and a crazy amount of emails. When I got back home, I looked at a Hyundai Santa Fe Sport at Courtesy Hyundai. I liked it, but I wasn't crazy about the color. I told my girlfriend about it. I didn't realize they had more color options available at Courtesy. I looked at a couple of other manufacturers, and looked at different models. So one evening around 4:30 I received a phone call. It was a woman calling from FIRST HYUNDAI. She asked me if I was still looking for a vehicle. I told her I was. I also told her that I looked at the Santa Fe Sport and I liked it. With this she said that they have a large selection. She also said that if I have a trade, they have two professional estimators on site that would be able to look at my car and give me the highest price. My girlfriend pulled into the driveway just as I was hanging up. I asked her if she wanted to go take a look. When we got there a salesman greeted us. We took a Santa Fe Sport for a ride. We liked the color. I told the salesman that I had a certificate from Truecar giving the numbers that the car should be priced at. Now, about those professional estimators that were supposed to be on site. The only trading evaluation that I saw them use was a website. I was told they use this exclusively for a cars value. Interesting…. That should have been the first red light, but we liked the SUV, and so we continued . Steve, the man in charge came back with some numbers scribbled on a piece of paper. He said with this, they were losing money, but he wanted to make a deal. We went home after being there for three and a half hours. It was exhausting. I went back the next day. I guess I thought I was getting a good deal. I never did get back my Truecar certificate from the salesman . I signed all the paperwork and took the SUV home. Weird thing though, as soon as I left the dealership, I had this feeling that something was wrong with this deal. I told my girlfriend how I was feeling. Even though I've never had anxiety, I felt that I was having some type of anxiety attack. My heart was racing. Something about this deal felt wrong. I went online to see if I could still find that vehicle on the Truecar site. Come to find out TrueCar keeps a separate file for vehicles you have certificates on. Here's the numbers: FIRST HYUNDAI : savings off MSRP $4,536.00 There is a name to contact with the TrueCar certificate. I didn't notice this the first time. I guess this was who I should have asked for directly. The sales people out front are there to tell you how they are losing money. EMPIRE HYUNDAI OF FALL RIVER: savings off MSRP: $5,461.00 maybe I should have taken the drive and saved myself a headache. ROUTE 44 HYUNDAI: savings off MSRP: $4,611.00 One of the other papers they placed for me to sign was a Protection Plus program. I had not requested any programs. I don't know why this was even in the paperwork. The finance man just put it down and didn't even tell me what it was. Maybe I should have brought my reading glasses with me. I had anxieties all night. I didn't sleep a wink. I decided to try to cancel the deal. On the contract it states there is no cooling off period unless the seller agrees to cancel. I thought I should try. So, 16 hours from signing and 6 miles added to the SUV I was back in the showroom. I explained to the man with the magic numbers that I was feeling very uncomfortable with this deal. I felt that they totally disregarded the true car evaluation certificate with the dealers name. I explained to him how sick I was feeling over this. To this he said, “maybe you should see a doctor if you're having anxieties and you feel your heart is pounding out of your chest. As for the price, it should be good, the bank has agreed to your loan.” He also said that all the paperwork had been processed and can't be changed. How could it be processed when I still owed the cash part of my down payment ? I wasn't able to get to that for 4 days. I was told by someone that until all the paperwork was fully finished, this deal was not closed. I told them that over the phone and I told them I was probably going to ask a lawyer. The response I got to be this was, “go ahead, we have better lawyers.” So, thats my story and basically all of this and the following two things that happened are what really inspired me to write this post….. 1) inappropriate jokes were told while I was getting my inspection sticker. This is the place I'm supposed to go for my inspection stickers for life that they offer. I don't think so. I will be bringing receipts from my choice of inspection stations to them for cash reimbursement. 2) My girlfriend and I were having breakfast at a restaurant we go to often. Our waitress asked, what's new ? We talked about different things. I then said I got a new car. She asked me if I liked it, I hesitated. “The car is nice, not happy with the dealer.” She asked where, I told her First Hyundai. With which she responded, “ I'm not surprised. Over the years I have been told by many customers that they too have complaints with First Hyundai. Never really heard any complaints about any other dealerships, just FIRST HYUNDAI !!!” So did I get ripped off, I think so. Especially with a 2014 SUV, that in the car world, at this time of the year, is practically obsolete. Done for now.... More

My recent purchase in November 2014, was handled professionally, On the date that my car was supposed to be available for me to purchase, I received a telephone call informing me that there would be a one week delay in receiving the car. My car was in one week later as promised. My vehicle was ready for me to pick up at the time promised, it was impeccably detailed and had a full tank of gasoline. All of the promises that I had negotiated with the salesperson were delivered as promised. The financing experience was very clear, organized and Mateo was able to answer all of my questions. My salesperson Joe and Mateo were both very helpful and patient with me when I had questions. More

I have been waiting 3wks for a answer from customer relations and as of yet have not heard anything. I will never buy a car from this dealership in the future and will let others know as well jeff reyn olds More

A few things that were to be fixed were done finally and we made the mistake of not inspecting the car again!! before leaving as it was getting to be around dusk and we had little time the second day we came for it. Car was damaged on passenger door and quickly "fixed" and of course, we didn't see it. As soon as we left the lot, we owned the problem and can't prove we didn't do the damage. I was called by one of the top men who actually laughed at me and insulted me until I asked for his last name at which time he hung up. I have it anyway. I would warn anyone from buying from this dealership. Again, remember the word - NIGHTMARE!!! More

Then speaker blew. Then steering wheel staring to crack and peel off. Only had it 3 months I had to trade it in after all theses headaches just in case something else happens. I ended up getting a 2015 model They help me out the price on it but didn't help me on the car I got from they post to certifed I will not buy another car from theses guys again just beware on used cars. Buy only new from theses guys. I posted another comment went I got my veloster few months I wish I can take it back bc they can't fix something right first time. More

However, JD Powers and other organizations that rate customer satisfaction scores probably wouldn't even consider wasting their time here, because like me I had to wait hours on end just to meet with the finance person to complete paperwork on the car. Had a scheduled appointment, they claim they didn't know anything about my arrival, they couldn't find keys for the car we were going to test drive, had my daughter and I wait for over an hour and then when it came to doing the paperwork, talk about prehistoric and non-customer centric, the old "Oh I got to go check with the sales manager, or let me check with the GM" and the littany of old car dealer tactics came into play. In fact while we were waiting and waiting, it was very clear to me that this Dealership has many issues. We witnessed another customer who was buying more than one car, actually transfer personal belongings from their car into obviously the wrong car. Imagine that for a minute. You are taking delivery of a new car and they bring you the wrong one, not once, but twice. Felt bad for the guy throwing things around the lot in total frustration with this dealer. we took delivery of the almost new Used Subaru with 4,000 miles becasue it was a great car....However this dealership is the absolute worst I have ever experienced in my years. I own 5 cars. I've purchased many. This would be the last time ever of associating with this xxxxxxx operation. Stay away!!! More

I started on Friday texting with Lindsey who was very efficient and extremely courteous. I made an appointment to come in that Sunday with no expectations at all, as I had very specific wants/needs in mind, and I didn't think the dealership had the car that I wanted. When I got there on Sunday I was quickly greeted by Ghulam. We had a quick conversation about what my definite wants were and what I would be satisfied with as an alternative. He said he had something he thought I would like, and he drove it around front. Well, low and behold it was the EXACT car I wanted, just in automatic instead of manual transmission. Ghulam and I went over the "specifics", and within 3.5 hours I was driving off the lot in my new Veloster. I can't say enough good things about the staff at First Hyundai, they were so friendly, and so accommodating, I will be referring anyone in need to them. More
