This dealership service department is horrible. Had appointment and brought in truck, and it sat in the parking lot for 4 days. never a phone call or text message. The reps were all standing arou Had appointment and brought in truck, and it sat in the parking lot for 4 days. never a phone call or text message. The reps were all standing around when I walked in to get my truck. One said were sorry, and the others thought it was a big joke.Making a Vietnam Veteran go without transportation, and all they said was they were happy to be busy with the cold weather, and do I want to reschedule. Craig Ewald should fire all of them for treating a customer that way. What should have been a 2 day repair turned into disgraceful inaction by their service department. More
I am giving Ewald's Jeep a 1 star review because it won't allow me to give them a 0 star review. I brought my son's Jeep in with a full warranty to replace the delaminating radio. The service guy looked over allow me to give them a 0 star review. I brought my son's Jeep in with a full warranty to replace the delaminating radio. The service guy looked over my warranty and we made an appointment. I brought the Jeep back for the appointment and a different service guy told me there is a $1,000.00 core charge that I have to pay. He told me that it is a known issue with a bad product from Panasonic, and that because they have had so many issues my warranty will only cover the 600+ cost of the new radio. He says, he knows it's a messed up situation but I have to pay the $1,000.00. So, I said no way and I left. I phoned the dealership (Toyota of Lincoln Park) in Chicago, IL. where I bought the vehicle (2018 Jeep Track Hawk) with the warranty from, and they told me I didn't have to pay anything. Toyota then recommended a Jeep dealership in Crystal Lake, Illinois. I phoned the recommended dealership, and they stated that they had no idea why Ewald's told me I had to pay anything. They said it made absolutely no sense and scheduled an appointment with me. I took the vehicle to Crystal Lake, IL. and they replaced the radio with a brand new one in approximately 40 minutes, and charged me nothing as it was completely covered under the warranty. Instead of the vehicle being repaired under warranty at Ewalad's (20 minutes away from my home), I had to drive it 1 hour and 20 minutes away from my home to get the radio replaced without being ripped off for $1,000.00. Pretty shady Ewald's Jeep. I was very disappointed in Ewald's Jeep. I guess that goes to show that no matter how established a company appears, you should never take what they tell you as truth. If something doesn't sound legitimate, do your research before you get taken for....I don't know, $1,000.00. Very very bad business Ewlad's. - Mr. Glenn Berrios-Schroeder More
The reviews are very much accurate. I had an appointment scheduled for 820am, I arrived and they said that they would get to my car early afternoon. What is the point of making an appoi I had an appointment scheduled for 820am, I arrived and they said that they would get to my car early afternoon. What is the point of making an appointment if they wait half the day to even look at the car? I take my car elsewhere to get an oil change and asked them to see why my check engine light was on and they said it was a switch that needed replacement and its a 20 dollar part (which is true). I already new I had a bad sensor/switch that needed replacement so I brought the car in and told them that. Within 2 hrs of dropping my car off I received a call saying its 430 dollars total to replace this switch which goes for 20-50 bucks on an auto parts store. I was also told my total was going to be 100 dollars for the diagnostics test aka sticking a plug into my car to figure out the issue, which was then left in my vehicle when I left. I declined the repair and went to pick up my vehicle. I waited close to 2 hours to get my vehicle and pay for the diagnostics test after they called to tell me it was ready for pickup. I had a 15% off service coupon and brought it to the attention and the were going to decline my use of it even though running a diagnostics test is still service. I ended up getting the discount and leaving and will not be back to get my switch fixed. Terrible service. More
Bought a 2017 Jeep Wrangler with a certified preowned warranty. The vehicle made it one day before the check engine light went on. Next the car floor boards filled with water because the doors didn’t sea warranty. The vehicle made it one day before the check engine light went on. Next the car floor boards filled with water because the doors didn’t seal. Overall, about $8k in repairs needed as soon as I purchased it. Their CPO warranty doesn’t cover much of anything. More
It's been a year since I had my 2022 Jeep Compass. I've been completely satisfied with the performance and service provided at Ewald Auto. They keep me abreast of all recalls and maintenance issues I've been completely satisfied with the performance and service provided at Ewald Auto. They keep me abreast of all recalls and maintenance issues that need attention. It's always a pleasure to be in their new improved waiting room that provides a welcoming effect of coffee and a nice movie. The salesperson, Lonnie Peterson, who sold me the card had excellent taste in putting together a jeep that not only looks good inside and out, but attracts the eye of many on comers who ask, "where did you did that car from?" Lonnie is the bomb! He's informative, friendly, and goes the extra mile to make sure you are completely happy with the car you select. The apple always falls back to the root of Ewald Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram for their quality and expert salesperson. Thanks again for all your help and support! More
Unfortunately I have to agree with recent reviews, the service here is awful, the condition of my car is nowhere near what was stated on the Wisconsin buyers guide, and the fees are deceitful. That nitrog service here is awful, the condition of my car is nowhere near what was stated on the Wisconsin buyers guide, and the fees are deceitful. That nitrogen fee is not a joke, I had the exact same experience, and more. I actually caught them TRIPLE charging taxes as well. Watch those fees! The car I bought is a 2015 Honda odyssey from this dealer (obviously a trade in) only 56,000 miles on it at the time. I can also agree with the condition of the vehicles, the level of oversight on these vehicles is insane. After giving the car a touchless wash, the paint started coming off all over the car, and little scratches and dings showed up everywhere! I bought the car because I was I liked the price and the mileage, but oh boy I wish I had taken a close look at EVERYTHING on it. That Wisconsin buyers guide 152 something point inspection? Complete joke. In fact, I could probably make a lawsuit out of all the issues I have found with this vehicle in the short month after buying it that were NOT disclosed at the time of sale. Here's only some of the issues I found: The alignment was off by 17 degrees toe, making the steering wheel shake violently on the freeway, and veer right off the road as soon as you take your hands off the wheel for a second. However on my test drive before purchase this didn't occur, and I figured out why: The salesman FILLED UP THE TIRES BEYOND MAX LEVEL (Over 40psi). This led not only to the car driving better than it should have, which was deceitful, but it also led to a near blowout on the drivers side front tire, leaving it with a slow leak, and requiring ALL 4 tires to be replaced immediately or risk an accident, and an alignment needed to be performed. There goes $800 more out of my pocket on top of the 21k I paid for a 18k value car. I brought this up to the dealer too, and they drove it, and told me they couldn't feel any shaking...... really? I drove home after that and felt the shaking immediately. The only conclusion I can come to is either the manager was numb, or lying. I have videos of the steering wheel shaking violently before taking the car back, and still, the silence continued. And of course as usual with Wisconsin, I bought the car "As is" so as soon as the sale was over, there goes any support from the dealer. There were other broken things I found in the interior of the vehicle as well, such as the sun shades for the passenger windows (looked like a dog tore them up). Their response was "No we didn't know about that. It is not part of our law required inspection, so it isn't our problem". (Sales associate Patrick). I mean wow that's just sad. Way to back up your product! Now its 1 month after buying the car and guess what? After replacing the tires and getting an alignment, now I have crazy amount of rattling, parts falling off the bottom of the car from hidden rust, shifting issues AND shaking from the engine? Took it to a honda dealership in madison, and they found the catalytic converters were rusted so bad they were rattling, and all engine mounts are shot, and the torque converter needs to be replaced......... Oh and of course engine mounts are EXPLICITLY NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY... There goes another $5000 out of my pocket........ When will this stop? The car doesn't even have 60,000 miles on it, its carfax record was spotless, and I am just left with a huge hole in my wallet and a horrible taste in my mouth for this dealership, and Ewald as a whole. I have to assume the reviews I read that led me to come to this dealership and trust them must have been paid and biased, because my experience was anything but nice. More
This dealership is a complete scam when it comes to service. They overcharge on regular service and try to charge you on repairs that are covered under warranty. service. They overcharge on regular service and try to charge you on repairs that are covered under warranty. More
Placed an order through molar. com which was filled by this dealership. Called parts with issues with the order and the parts lady could not help. When the parts manager got on the com which was filled by this dealership. Called parts with issues with the order and the parts lady could not help. When the parts manager got on the phone, he refused to help stating that even if the VIN is entered to ensure the parts are correct, it still allows improper parts to be ordered. Would not help with return and cited “fine print” for 25% restock fee even though this was no fault of my own. Stated multiple times I should have ordered through my local dealership versus molar.com for my Ram truck. Do not allow the order of molar.com kicks your order here, they will refuse to help and make things right. Was not seeking refund, just the correct parts. More
Editing my previous review: We have worked with Kurt twice, unfortunately our last purchase was less than stellar. We purchased our 4Runner and noticed a loud clunking sound coming from the front su twice, unfortunately our last purchase was less than stellar. We purchased our 4Runner and noticed a loud clunking sound coming from the front suspension. We were assured by the manager that “it passed inspection” so it wasn’t a safety issue. I then took it to my mechanic shortly after bringing it home to get the clunking noise fixed and he discovered that our front right wheel was about to come off. The lower ball joint was completely disintegrated and it was obviously unsafe to drive. I informed Kurt of this issue and he told me to send him a copy of the bill. $500 in repairs later it was back on the road. I sent Kurt a copy of the bill, but nothing was done. I followed up with Kurt several times to give Ewald a chance to make it right. I was then told that because I didn’t drive the vehicle to them before getting the repairs done, they weren’t going to reimburse us. Ewald expected us to drive 45 minutes back to them so THEIR mechanic who missed this obvious safety issue during the inspection could fix it… whoever did the inspection on this vehicle clearly didn’t inspect it very thoroughly. That isn’t someone I want working on my vehicle. Per the WI DOT website, safety issues must be disclosed on the window sticker, even for vehicles sold “as is.” I have reported this falsified and/or negligent window sticker to the DOT, but I doubt they will do anything about it. Ewald doesn’t stand behind their vehicles, and buyer beware — you should take any vehicles you want to purchase from here to a third party if you want a reliable inspection. More
