We apologize that you were not satisfied with your service visit. Unfortunately, the battery in your vehicle was too weak to complete the tests necessary to evaluate your engine concerns. After replacing the battery, we spent a great deal of time diagnosing the coolant usage and the engine running rough. We had to complete multiple different pressure tests, as there was no external coolant loss during the regular pressure test. We then had to get the engine up to operating temperature, test the fan clutch, thermostat operation, and pressure test the cooling system overnight to check for leakdown. At that time, we found coolant in the exhaust, indicating coolant loss internal in the engine. Additionally, the engine was running rough. All ignition and fuel system tests passed. We found relative compression tests with the scan tool showed multiple cylinders had low compression. This indicates that the engine needs internal service, which would be less cost effective than replacing the engine. In the end, there was roughly $500 in diagnostic charges and $200 for the battery, plus tax, etc to get to the $718 bill. Any charges accrued would be credited towards any related repairs.

Ricardo, we are deeply disappointed that you were not fully satisfied with the service provided. We tried to reach out to see what we could have done better, but the phone calls were not answered. We would like to know what we could have done better. We took your vehicle in, without an appointment, while we had a full schedule. We were able to complete an internal transmission repair within a couple of days (including procuring the parts necessary for the repair), and get your vehicle back on the road for you.

Dear johna1960johns, Ford Motor Co. as well as Empire Ford has a Brake Special that includes "machining" rotors or drums, brake pads or shoes and labor. The reason your service was more expensive was because your brakes had more wear and "machining" the rotors could not be done, therefore you required new rotors altogether. This coupon does not cover the cost of new rotors. New England weather is more severe on our vehicles and often times rotors become pitted and worn. The Brake Service coupon on our website fully discloses what is covered. We are sorry that you had anticipated a lower cost. Thank you for your business We hope to assist you in the future.
