Eddy's Toyota of Wichita - Service Center

I went to the dealership because the key-fob on my 07 Camry wasn't working all the time. They checked it out and said I may need a new one. I was leaving and when I was at my car, again it didn't work. Camry wasn't working all the time. They checked it out and said I may need a new one. I was frustrated, so I turned to this young man and asked why it didn't work, he was kind and took the key-fob and of course it unlocked for him. In my frustration, I tried to explain what was going on, and Jacob said maybe it's time to get a new one (car) that is. I was not looking for a new car at the time, but heck I wanted to see the new Camry SE. To make a long story short, I have my car serviced at Eddy's, but I always deal for cars at Dodge City. I have bought 6 different Toyota's from them and have a great experience there, and not so much with Eddy's. But from a key-fob not working to driving out with my new Camry SE it was a great experience. Jacob and Landon both made sure to win me over to dealing with Eddy's vs Dodge City, and the experience was so different then in the past, more into what the customer wants, and not the high pressure sales. After dealing with numerous Toyota dealerships from around the country, I have always received nothing but great professional service. When I moved to Wichita I was excited to try Eddy's Toyota because around the country, I have always received nothing but great professional service. When I moved to Wichita I was excited to try Eddy's Toyota because it looked like a very respectable and professional dealership. I took my 2003 Toyota Matrix in for 2 recall fixes and also a synthetic oil change which was a service special. I asked for full synthetic 5W-30 oil and the service attendant told me he will get that done for me. So I left my car and went to work. I arrived back at the dealership after a 9 hour work day to find my car sitting outside ready to go. The service attendant then took my papers and ran back in the shop leaving me waiting for approximately 10 minutes due to the service technician leaving my service order open on the computer. Once he came back I asked if full synthetic 5W-30 oil was put in my car and he said yes. I then asked if both recalls were fixed and he said yes. Still trying to work the computer at his station, the service attendant called someone to find out what type of oil was put in my car. Come to find out, 5W-30 conventional oil was put in my car. I insisted that they fixed their mistake by replacing the conventional oil with the full synthetic oil I requested. In addition to the oil mistake, there were other issues in the service I received at Eddy's Toyota making the service far from exceptional. Update: Dave McAmis was very kind to approach me personally regarding my service. After talking for nearly 20 minutes, I expressed my concern with the far from exceptional service at Eddy's. He agreed with me that the service I received was very poor and he would take all my concerns, comments, and recommendations and use them to help educate his service attendants and technicians so that problems like there would not happen again. I was very pleased with the personal time Dave took to talk with me, he provided me with assurance that Eddy's in fact DOES care about their customers and the service they receive. I will give Eddy's a second chance by taking my 2013 Camry in for it's next service. More

Buying a 2009 Hyundai Accent. I test drove this car the first part of February 2013 and the check engine light came on. When I returned to the dealership and told them that the check engine light came on t first part of February 2013 and the check engine light came on. When I returned to the dealership and told them that the check engine light came on they said that they would have the service dept. look at it and fix it. Which they did. I did all the necessary paperwork required and drove the car home. That evening the check engine light came on again, so I returned the car to them and they said their service department would check it out, which they did. According to their inspection, the head gaskets were blown and it needed a new engine which would take approximately three weeks to get. That would put it at about the 19th of February. I contacted them on the 19th of February and I was told that the first engine they had been going to put in was no good and they were getting a second engine which would push the date back to the 19th of March.I contacted them on the 19th of March and was told that they were NOT going to be replacing the engine but only the head gaskets and it would be done the 29th of March. I contacted them today and was told that it would be done Monday!!!! I blew up and told them if it was not done by MONDAY I would be contacting an attorney. In addition to the service problems, I received the run around on the loaner car. They give me a loaner car and the tag expired the 28th of February. So when I contact them about the tag issue, the dealership tells me I can DRIVE the car out there with an EXPIRED tag and IF I get a ticket, the dealership would pay for the ticket but it would still go against my driving record. I was not willing to take that risk, so I parked the loaner in my driveway where it sat for two weeks. Thats how long it took for them to get me a current tag. All in all what was supposed to have been an exciting experience turned into an ongoing nightmare!!!!! More

I purchased a new car from Eddy’s Toyota in August of 2011 without incident. I felt that I was treated fairly and didn’t have any immediate problems. With the purchase of my new car, I got two years of 2011 without incident. I felt that I was treated fairly and didn’t have any immediate problems. With the purchase of my new car, I got two years of free car washes at Eddy’s. This involved me pulling into the service entrance and letting their employees drive my car to a carwash that was out of my sight. Typically it was washed, vacuumed, and returned in 20 minutes or less. A couple of months ago, I removed my wedding ring when I went into the gym and put it in my console. I forgot to put it back on when I returned to my car, and proceeded to Eddy’s for a car wash. When I got home, I realized I didn’t have my ring on and I went out to get it, only to find it missing. I turned my car inside out looking for it, but was 100% sure that I placed it in my console. I’m not the type to go shouting accusations, so I delicately approached the issue with one of the service guys there, asking if by chance it may have been vacuumed up on accident, although I knew that that was a near impossibility. He asked a guy who had recently cleaned the vacuum filters and told me that they had found nothing. About a month later I took it back in for another carwash, this time with a $70 bottle of cologne in my car door pocket. After returning home, I realized the cologne was gone as well. I called Eddy’s the next day and asked to speak to a manager. I got an assistant, who seemed concerned and took my name and number down. After going about a week without a returned phone call, I went to Eddy’s and spoke with the Service Manager directly in his office. He was very nice and seemed legitimately concerned about my situation. But beyond apologizing and assuring me that they do everything they can to try and prevent theft, there wasn’t much more he could do. Ultimately, I will not buy a car from Eddy’s again. The perks that they offer with a new car purchase are simply not worth it when I have to worry about having items stolen out of my car when I drop it off for service or a car wash. The ring and cologne are one thing, but how can I be sure that the same characters who stole those items weren’t looking through my briefcase, finding my address, my kids’ names, etc… Buy a Toyota somewhere else.
