Armstrong Automotive: I took my 2021 Kia Sonata in for an oil change. I received a call notifying me that they were not going to proceed with the oil change due to an obvious oil leak at the oil pan or ti an oil change. It says a lot when a repair shop refuses to complete a $180.00 service, because it would have been a waist of my money…Thank you Armstrong Automotive!!! Ken Garth Kia: I took my Kia into Ken Garth Kia on Bell Rd. From the moment I arrived on site, the situation became confrontational with the service rep Amador Martine. After explaining the situation and findings of Armstrong Automotive, I was promptly told that my mechanics opinion didn’t make any difference, it was his mechanics findings that was the determining factor. To be perfectly honest, it wasn’t the information he conveyed, I already knew that a Kia mechanic would have to agree that the work was covered under warranty, but the manner and tone in which it was delivered…RUDE and CONFRONTATIONAL. We left the car for inspection. Upon leaving the dealership, both my wife and I had come to the forgone conclusion that we would be refused repairs under the warranty. Several hours later, after I called, I was told I could pick up my Kia. When we arrived, we were told that the leak was from the oil pan drain plug gasket leaking. Really!!! And I was also told that they had replaced the gasket “FREE OF CHARGE, I didn’t charge you for it.” Service rep. Amador Martine. My Kia was returned unwashed, unvacuumed, and with writing on the windshield. To be fair, I was told that their washing station was not working, but the writing on the windshield??? Much Appreciated…NOT!!!! Earnhardt Peoria Kia I called and made an appointment to take my Kia into Peoria Kia, the young lady who assisted me was friendly and helpful setting up the appointment that met my needs. When we arrived at the dealership, we were about 2 hours early for our appointment. The attitude we were greeted with was warm, and welcoming. Our service rep Juston Sathren, met us on the service line, and as I explained that we were early for our appointment, he promptly said it wasn’t a problem, and he would get us taken care of. I explained what Armstrong Automotive had told us about the oil leak. As he listened to me, he got in our car and started it up. He told us that there were a couple of maintenance items that needed attention. He also said he would have the mechanic de-grease the area in question and then drive it to see where the leak was. We left the car feeling much more comfortable that we were being treated fairly. My wife received a call a few hours later. She was told that the oil leak was going to be repaired under warranty, that they would be keeping the car for a couple of days, and they had a loaner car available for her if she wanted. Juston emailed a recommended repair quote, and we approved several of the additional items to be completed. When we picked up our car, it was clean (washed inside and out) and vacuumed, and all repairs were completed. CONCLUSIONS and RECOMMENDATIONS: Earnhardt Peoria Kia: I recommend Earnhardt Peoria Kia for both purchasing your vehicle and for repairs. We originally purchased our KIA here, and we will purchase our next new vehicle here as well. Juston Sathren: Excellent individual, providing superior customer service. Armstrong Automotive: I highly recommend them. They have proven themselves to be fair, honest, and well versed with superior mechanics. When it comes to my vehicles, I value their opinions and recommendations. Ken Garth Kia: AVOID!!! If I could give anything less than a 1-star review, I would, but I guess you can’t get lower than the bottom of the barrel. By not honoring their responsibility as a KIA dealership and faithfully providing warranty repairs, the service rep may have saved turning in a warranty repair to Kia, but they lost out on over $500.00 in additional repair work and a future customer.
