feedback for this dealer I had been looking for a used Subaru for my son and started looking at the dealers in SLC. I found a pretty clean one at a down town dealership but t I had been looking for a used Subaru for my son and started looking at the dealers in SLC. I found a pretty clean one at a down town dealership but the salesman would not budge on the price. I told him I was very interested in a 2016 outback limited for myself and would purchase not only the 2011 but a 2016 also if he would work with me on the used one for my son. They could have cared less! Too lazy to go out in the cold and didn't think I was serious I guess. I ended up finding a great used 2011 Subaru outback for my son from a private party but I stopped in Doug Smith Subaru in American Fork to check out there new inventory. I found a 2016 outback 3.6 Limited "Black" loaded with everything. I worked with (Mitch) I was very impressed right off. Not the typical car salesman. This guy had class! Very professional but also a sense of humor. I didn't buy the car that day and received a couple of phone calls from Mitch as a follow up to tell me that my Black 3.6 outback was still on the lot. After a couple of weeks I dropped in to see if they would discount the sticker price. These cars are not on the lot too often because of the larger engine and a little pricey for a outback "I thought". Long story short, I purchased the car with what I felt a honest price for me and the dealership. Mitch was excellent! This car has more on it than a new Lexus. I wanted some accessories added to the car: Factory side moldings and the pieces that go around the wheel well. They were ordered, put on my car by a service department that is extremely friendly and on the ball. My salesman "Mitch" held my hand through the whole process (not literally) and made sure the car was done perfect, just like my OCD self. I would recommend seeing Mitch if your looking for a new Subaru. He was honest and helpful during the whole car buying experience. I don't do surveys but this guy deserves a big thumbs up for service. Rare in the car business. I hope this helps someone if your looking for a Subaru dealer to purchase from. More
Went in for service, 3 1/2 hours later they tell me I need a new on board computer. "Don't worry. This one will be a short repair. About a half hour." I go in for the part and I sit for 2 1/2 hours. need a new on board computer. "Don't worry. This one will be a short repair. About a half hour." I go in for the part and I sit for 2 1/2 hours. This is my first Subaru. Never again. The car only has 6,000 miles on it and I have been in the repair shop for 6 hours. They didn't even pay gas for my second trip and the dealership is quite a distance from my home. I should have stuck with a brand that had dealers closer to home. Live and learn. More
We got into a pinch when the CV boot on the wife's Outback blew going over 6 toward Moab. I called down to the Service Center at Doug Smith and arranged to show up early in the morning. I met Dale at Outback blew going over 6 toward Moab. I called down to the Service Center at Doug Smith and arranged to show up early in the morning. I met Dale at 7:00, they got me hooked up, got the boot fixed and I'm back on the road within hours. The service couldn't be better, the guys couldn't be nicer, and I can't recommend them highly enough. Bonus: I didn't get a high-pressure sales pitch for any extraneous services. More
