I recently took my Hyundai Elantra to Dorsett Automotive in Terre Haute, Indiana, to have a damaged tire replaced. I was quoted $195 for the tire, plus a $30 installation fee, and told that the tire was in in Terre Haute, Indiana, to have a damaged tire replaced. I was quoted $195 for the tire, plus a $30 installation fee, and told that the tire was in stock, and my vehicle would be ready in a few hours. When I found the exact same tire at Walmart for $112, I shared that information with the service department because Dorsett advertises a price match guarantee. Shortly afterward, I was told they would not match the Walmart price, and the lowest they could go was $178, claiming they’d “lose money” if they matched it. Even more concerning, after I questioned the refusal, I was then told the tire would have to be ordered and would take three days—contradicting their earlier statement that the tire was already in stock. I found this experience disappointing and inconsistent with the dealership’s advertised guarantee. As a customer who purchased my vehicle here, I expected transparency and good faith. Instead, I left feeling misled. I hope management reviews this policy and provides clear, honest communication to future customers. More
