Don’t trust the service center. Three years ago, when we bought a new vehicle, I was provided a token by the sales representative which he indicated could be used to obtain a free k Three years ago, when we bought a new vehicle, I was provided a token by the sales representative which he indicated could be used to obtain a free key if one was ever lost or stolen. We lost a key and I called the service center to schedule an appointment to get the key replaced. The service center representative said he had never heard of a "token" and would schedule the appointment and speak to the service manager, Angela. I arrived for the service appointment and they indicated that they would not honor the free key and the sales representative made a mistake telling me it was for a free key. The token is provided with the number on it, so they know how to cut a key if the key is misplaced. They said to provide a new key it would cost $500, including $160 of labor. They would not budge even though on the appointment paperwork, it referenced them speaking to Angela. If they had actually talked to Angela like they indicated they would and called me back to let me know that they would not provide the free key, I would have been disappointed, but ok with it. The fact that they did not communicate internally and never called to inform me prior to taking off from work and wasting my time is where the frustration lies. They were willing to charge me $160 an hour for their time, but completely disrespected my time. Apparently, the customer's time is worth nothing, regardless if it's clear in the notes on their appointment confirmation that they were going to speak with Angela (which they did not). I wouldn't trust anything they say and even when you can show them the notes on their own appointment confirmation, they still do nothing to make the situation right - not even a discount on the labor.
