Very kind people, could improve some on turn around times in the shop and communication on pricing, was quite expensive for work completed, I know it’s a dealership but definitely think twice before going ba in the shop and communication on pricing, was quite expensive for work completed, I know it’s a dealership but definitely think twice before going back.. Shady. ..when you know what's wrong with your car, and the dealer adds $2.5k on top of what you already need, so they can feel safe warranting the work. My c ..when you know what's wrong with your car, and the dealer adds $2.5k on top of what you already need, so they can feel safe warranting the work. My car has been making this noise since December, and my AC system has been working good the whole time. I have my own AC guages and tools, because I am a mechanic, and I usually do my own maintenance. The AC compressor is under my car, and I don't have a car lift at my house, so I decided to let Ford change the compessor. I own all 3 of the Ford shop manuals for my car. I know what tests they "should" be doing. The only test they did, and did it wrong was capturing my old AC, and telling me the amount that was supposedly in the system. My AC compressor clutch was going bad, and my car sounded like I had a (whine) supercharger. I needed both rubber lines cause they were showing cracks. My AC was working good, and cold. What I got was my AC system drained of freon, so it would definitely fail the next time i turned it on...and a whole bunch of speculation of what has been bad on "other cars" in the past, so i should change that stuff too. Oh...and i was told the system was also leaking along with the noise. It must have been an incredibly slow leak since it been like this for 4-5 months, and the guage pressure never changed...lol Basically they wanted to replace the entire system for a mere $3.5k. I went home..re-serviced my AC system. It's been holding good steady pressure, and freezing cold air for the last 5 days (still have noise from AC clutch). I ordered my compressor, and both pressure lines for around $600. You can't trust car dealers/service writers/and definitely not the service manager. If the dealer wants to change all your parts...they should tell you that when you drop the car off, and skip the xxxxxxxx $189.00 diagnostic fee. There is nothing diagnostic about it. And don't bother calling Ford's customer complaint line...lmao...they really don't give a xxxx, and are not going to do xxxx. Overall my experience was a waste of time, and I'm still doing the work myself. The last time I had my 2006 Ford truck (with 38000 miles) in the shop was over 10 years ago for a bad gauge cluster. They broke my plastic steering wheel bezel, and gave it back to me saying "that's the way you brought it to us, but we can fix it"....their fix...glue it??? The service manager wanted to glue it back together. I told him xxxx no, cause who glues stuff back together in their vehicle. I called Ford customer complaint line...nothing happened. Basically once they have your car they can break your car/truck and tell you anything they want, and that's the new truth. Your the liar, and you don't know what your talking about. If you want honesty...take your car anywhere else...it has to be better service. More
