Mousa (Salesman) helped me selecting a car, and started pricing discussion. My wife was not with me during this visit. Before the pricing negotiation started, I mentioned that I have to bring my spouse to select the color of the car. Salesman agreed and expressed no problem with this request. Mousa and Jim handled the price negotiations very professionally and we arrived at an agreed price. Then salesman asked me for the deposit of $500 so that the deal can be interlocked, and I can go back and bring my wife to select a color. I gave him my credit card. 5 Mins later he came back and insisted to decide color of the car right then and there. I went inside their office, Jim directed me to talk to Selim Arisoy (Sales Director). This is when the shocking experience started. Selim told me that I can not leave the shop without finalizing the color, and he was very rude. I requested him that we have interlocked a price, you can process the deposit, you might want to hold on to the documentation as I plan to come back in 30 mins. He refused to hold on the deal, or even taking $500 deposit. A sales director (i.e. Selim) could not wait for 30 mins for a customer satisfaction. I told him I will even prefer to not buy a car than ignoring my wife's selection of color. AND HE WAS OK even with a customer walking out of the shop (after they almost sold me the car). It was not my loss, I will go ahead and buy the same car from other dealer. but It is this dealership's loss, and something that Honda should take VERY SERIOUSLY. More

Everything was pretty standard car dealer hustle back and forth. My wife and I came in with what I thought was a reasonable settle-on price "out the door" and we went back and forth a while. When it came d forth. My wife and I came in with what I thought was a reasonable settle-on price "out the door" and we went back and forth a while. When it came down to negotiating the last $250 difference, they tried to say that they agreed to the final price "without tint" in the package... In Texas... We were never told that. Period. We said we felt like they were trying to hustle us and held firm on the price "with" tint. Gordon told us that the sales manager would probably "let us walk" if we didn't agree to come up $250 or take the car without tint. We held firm and he said "OK, I will be right back." We did not see him for 15 minutes. During that time Sales manager (aka every bad cliche' sales line you can think of Michael Sawin) walks by and waves at us a bit theatrically and says "Have a nice day, we will see you later!" My wife and I, awaiting Gordon's promised return, look at one another a bit confused and ask each other what the heck that had meant? Now, he did this passing by from about 15 feet away, he did not come up to us and say this, and he continued right on by to other customers. When we finally did see Gordon again, we were working our way towards the door and he came casually strolling out of a back hallway drinking a cup of coffee and we say "we were wondering where you went?" He acts surprised, as though he hadn't told us he would "Be right back" when he left us earlier, and says "Oh, did you decide to help us out a little bit?" Exasperated at his arrogance and lack of respect I uttered a "Pssh" sound and we immediately left the building, got in our 2008 Accord we had purchased from them new years before, and went to Vandergriff Honda in Arlington where we enjoyed the most pleasant new car buying experience either of us had ever had. We even agreed on a price $100 over what David McDavid tried to force us to accept underhandedly just in spite of our experience with them. If they had just politely told us that they were not going to accept our offer and had not acted so arrogantly and dis-respectfully we might have actually returned to their dealership over the $100 difference to concede to their offer. They not only lost a repeat customer on that sale but I would drive to Alaska to buy a Honda before I ever returned to buy another vehicle from this dealership for the rest of my life. I hope your that their GM is as amused by their actions when I write to them next because most of the time permanently driving away repeat customers is frowned upon! Do yourselves a favor and skip this dealership. More
They verbally beat their competitor's price over the phone. Did not insist on me coming into the dealership to give me a price. Stood by their word when I came in to buy a new car...there were no hidd phone. Did not insist on me coming into the dealership to give me a price. For about 2 months I had been researching manual transmission Honda Civics in the area. Unfortunately the manual transmission is hard to find, but eventually found the car I was looking for at David McDavid. The staff was extremely friendly and worked within my price range. I probably worked with 6 ot 7 different people while at the dealership and all of them catered to my needs. Albert was my innitial contact through email and phone weeks before the purchase. Albert was also very personable on the test drive. Before going to the dealership I had a set out the door price and Travis was able to trade-in my EXTREMELY worn, barely running '99 Civic for much more than it was worth in order to get to my price. John in fianancing was able to get me into the 1.9% interest rate, gave me a great deal on a warranty, and threw in oil changes for 3 (or could be 5) years. All in all I had a great experience and I am quiet pleased with my new Honda Civic LX. More
When I wrecked my Civic, the search was on for a new (used) Honda. My husband and I are loyal to the brand, so we began our search with the dealers near our home in Denton, and we were immediately disap (used) Honda. My husband and I are loyal to the brand, so we began our search with the dealers near our home in Denton, and we were immediately disappointed with the amount of vehicles to choose from, as well as the salesman's attempts to steer us toward the Toyotas they had on the lot. He hovered and made too many appeals to my gender as a selling point for option X, Y, or Z. The other dealers we contacted were also too focused on making a sale to treat us as anything better than money machines (which, while expected, is still fairly unpleasant). Finally expanding our search out to Irving, we decided to try David McDavid, hoping that a volume dealership might have enough of a variety to make the trip worth it. When we got to the dealership and met with Moiz, he cut to the chase, asking us what we wanted instead of trying to tell us. When he showed us cars, he didn't oversell the features we were already sold on, and he didn't wander too far out of our price range. The best thing about this experience was the way he treated us like people, instead of hovering expectantly and ignoring our insistence that, thank you, but we really don't want a silver car. The car we finally settled on was an Accord (the car we were looking for), EX-L (what we were hoping for), for $19.5k (at the high end, but well within our price range), with 27k miles on it (which was much lower than we expected to find in our price range). Better yet, Moiz managed to bring the sticker price down for us, got the car certified, and he also threw in a hail damage repair, which was something we were considering letting slide, which was all together astounding. We picked our new car up from its repairs a couple of days later (they kindly gave us a loaner car in the interim), and it was perfect, from the flawlessly repaired hail damage to the care in detailing the interior. Easily the best experience I had buying a car. More
I was in the market for a new Honda and decided to go to this particular dealer because of all the great reviews I read online. I was not disappointed. Salesman John Toland provided excellent service and wa this particular dealer because of all the great reviews I read online. I was not disappointed. Salesman John Toland provided excellent service and was easy to work with. After some back and forth on the price of a car, we finally reached an agreement which we were both happy with. To the extent possible, my car buying experience was pleasant and seamless, and I attribute this to John's great customer service--he was knowledgeable, pleasant and not pushy. I would definitely recommend this dealership and will use them again in the future when the need arises. More
