I was off of work this Holiday week, so didn't schedule it, but dropped my car off and asked if they could fit it in to do the needed maintenance (left it for a day). Horrible Service Department. We just had our 6 month old Hyundai Ioniq 5 die; A fault in the electrical system. After calling Hyundai roadside assistance they said they would tow We just had our 6 month old Hyundai Ioniq 5 die; A fault in the electrical system. After calling Hyundai roadside assistance they said they would tow it to the nearest Hyundai Dealership and that dealership would take care of this; this being D'Arcy in Joliet. After waiting 4 hours for my vehicle to be towed (after I was given an hour estimate) we dropped it off at the dealer. I stepped in and talked to a Michael or Matthew, told him we had our dead car towed their by Hyundai roadside assistance. He seemed annoyed and told me they couldn't even look at my car for 45 days. He took down my information after I told him the car is dead and undrivable and he said they'll let me know what's up after they look at it. I asked about a loaner or a rental and he said they don't have a loaner and seemed confused about the idea of a rental. They told me I couldn't get a rental as well (after being told by Hyundai Roadside the dealership would set me up). He was more than happy to leave my stranded there with no solutions in place. I tol him Hyundai said they would help me and his response was "I bet they did." I called a friend for a ride out and called up Hyundai who said they would help me secure transportation and that the service of the dealership was unfortunate and a common occurrence, yikes. They said corporate would follow up with a call in the next couple of days. Cars break it happens, there are a lot of moving parts and new tech here, that is not my issue, its how this was handled and treated and how little the dealership cared. Hyundai is trying to help now, but stay away from the D'arcy dealership. They are probably great at selling cars but from my interactions with them they could care less about servicing a Hyundai customer. More
