Dead-Cars-R-Us In the name of transparency, "Deal Rater" should provide a disclaimer that they have a financial relationship with Commonwealth Motors. This 2012 H In the name of transparency, "Deal Rater" should provide a disclaimer that they have a financial relationship with Commonwealth Motors. This 2012 Honda CRV owner cannot wait to turn my lease in April. To say that calls and emails to Honda Corporation have been unresponsive would be an understatement, and while Commonwealth Motors do not manufacture the vehicles they sell, they certainly represent the brand they sell. For full disclosure, my personal interactions with Commonwealth Motors personnel have been nothing but courteous and professional. However, due to the aforementioned above, Commonwealth Motors does assume some culpability due to the simple fact of selling the brands they do. My odyssey with my defective product started when I started hearing "clicking & grinding" noises upon starting. Through investigation, it was found to be the VTC actuator that is a KNOWN defect in the manufacturing of the vehicle (as well as other models). It is simply cheaper to fix it in aftermarket rather than to fix it in manufacturing. Basically, if left unresolved it can lead to engine seizure. Nice. My second issue was when oil leaked all over my driveway. This was directly from Commonwealth Motors Service Department not sealing the oil pan correctly, vehicle towed again. While not catastrophic, due mostly to vigilance, I'll let it pass as a simple mistake. Move on and all that. Fast forward to February of this year, car would not start, dead battery. Unbeknownst to me at the time, this was another known issue which Honda Corporation addressed by sending out a notice regarding this issue. The issue was a software update, but apparently Commonwealth Motors has no procedure in place to keep these updated. Why is this an issue? Because it happened again to me YESTERDAY! It was me who found the service notice from Honda Corporation, not Commonwealth staff. While "Buddy" was extremely polite, I was perplexed as to why me, the customer, had to troubleshoot and solve a known issue. Alone these issues may not matter to most, but when combined with my inquires and lack of response from not only Honda Corporation Customer Service, but Honda Corporation in general, I will never buy from Commonwealth or Honda again. Honda hubris is so great, they didn't even bother to respond to a Better Business Bureau complaint. Brilliant. I have been patronized and lied to by Honda (regarding contract terms), and it's unfortunate that customers like myself are so low in number. Honda Corporation, as well as Commonwealth Motors can afford to write off customers like myself because there are so few that hold companies accountable. No? Commonwealth Motors itself sells the brand Chevrolet, a brand that came to a conscious decision to not resolve a production line issue in their ignition switches, that killed people. It was more profitable to sell their vehicles like this for profit, while settling wrongful death claims. Commonwealth Motors continues their relationship with Chevrolet in the name of profit. As a final note, before Commonwealth Motors points to Google searches and reviews, especially by "DealRater", some of still believe the old saying: "When something is too good to be true, it usually is." This applies here, as your reviews are through a paid third-party service that filters out any low ratings. How do I know this? Because I asked them directly.Without their full disclosure of your paid relationship with them, it would border on fraud, so they had to disclose. I understand I'm not a consumer lemming, and I know I'm in the minority, but if there was a more informed and demanding consumers out there, the aforementioned issues would not exist, and quite possibly a free market would take care of those who ignore the consumer. Regards, Duncan Burns - Cannot wait to return your vehicle. ***Commonwealth makes out yet again on the deal, at current mileage usage, I will be returning the vehicle with as much as 7,000 miles UNDER the lease agreement, as I simply do not trust driving this vehicle.*** Duncan Burns Car dead again, only 3 days after "service". Will never lease or buy from Commonwealth or Honda ever again. More
