This has easily been one of the most enjoyable car buying experiences that I have ever had. Usually, I walk into a dealership thinking, "I'd literally rather eat lead paint than be here right now." Buying a car should be an exciting experience, but in the handful of times that I've gone to a dealership, I've been talked down to and disrespected. I can only assume that it's because I'm a bit young and also a woman, which, hello, it's 2021. Can we stop assuming that women are naive and incapable? Thanks! Before coming to Cityside, I checked out another location, and the salesman was downright aggressive. Now, I know what you might be thinking: "Maybe this anonymous reviewer is the actual jerk! Maybe the pattern here is that she's rude and that the salesmen respond in kind!" I'll be honest with you, my dear wayward reader who somehow stumbled onto this review. I have a lot of anxiety. I worry about how people perceive me all the time. I don't want to be rude. I was a waitress for a decade, and I'd hate to subject people to the same kind of harassment that I sometimes got. I know that patience and kindness go a long way, so please believe me when I say that this guy was aggressive towards me for literally no reason. It's a long story that I won't get into. We're approaching mini essay territory here. All you need to know is that Cityside Subaru is full of friendly people. I wish I could remember the name of the incredibly kind man who I spoke to on the phone before I went in. Michael, maybe? He was the best. I'm sorry that your name slipped my mind! Joe Cliggott is who ultimately helped me get a car. He's a peach. I'd buy 100 cars from him if I had the money to do it. I also ended up leaving a CD in the car that I was trading in by accident, and he rescued it for me. What a guy! Seriously, if you're the kind of person who dreads going to the dealership, come to Cityside Subaru. And if you love going to the dealership, come to Cityside Subaru for an even better experience. I emailed the dealership and Matt answered my email immediately. Not only did he help me to secure an appointment the very next day, but I was in and out of the express service within 30 minutes. Because of this wonderful experience a week ago, I just convinced my husband to purchase a Subaru from this dealership and he did today. Two very happy customers!! More
