I've been to four Subaru service departments, CitySide, Wakefield, Wilmington (out of business), and IRA (avoid, Caveat emptor). My husband and I recently purchased our first new car together from Mark at Cityside Subaru in Belmont. This was the second dealership we went to test drive the 2009 Forester. We were trying to decide between the Legacy and the Forester. Mark was more than helpful; he took us out for a 15-20min test drive in each vehicle and really encouraged us to push the vehicles to get a good feel for them. After the test drives we were still unsure about which one we wanted, but we were sure we wanted a Subaru. After we weighed our choices we decided to get the roomer forester. We then shopped around for prices at almost a dozen dealerships. We even visited a couple that gave us really really low quotes, but left because they were not being honest and straight with us. These other dealerships made us anxious and pressured us into making a purchase right there on the spot. They even chased us out to our car and still tried to push the sale when we told them we needed more time to think it over. We decided to go back to Cityside and visit Mark. He explained everything along the way, even printing out what we were discussing and explaining the cost of every item. He was upfront and honest every step of the way. He never pressured us and at times even suggested we take extra time to think things over. It was truly unbelievable how different this dealership was compared to the others. We feel really confident about our purchase, the price and the product, and know Mark will be there if we have any problems. I would whole heartedly recommend Mark and Cityside to anyone who is interested in a Subaru. It's a great dealership for the whole family (even dogs)! More

No back and for of offers and counter offers, they cut right to the chase gave me the prices I wanted for my trade in and the new car. Monday 17th Drove out after work to pick up the car and she was ready to go, It may have taken 15 min. to get me out the door, in the car driving home. I wish all dealers where like them, No haggling back and forth, just a great price right away. More

I originally chose to go to Cityside Subaru becasue of its already excellent Dealerrater rating, combined with the fact that it was relatively close to my house. I made similar trips to Toyota & Honda dealers further away from where I live. Cityside Subaru by far exceeded my expectations for low-pressure--though attentive--sales, and subsequently an exceptionally easy transaction when I was ready to buy my Legacy some weeks later. Both the Honda & Toyota dealerships I visited, though they claimed to be low/no pressure, were clearly more about "selling" me on the Camry or the Accord--even providing misinformation--as opposed to just giving me the facts and letting me make up my own mind. Lucas Casella is hands down the most easygoing, straightforward and hoenst car salesman I have ever encountered. Though I tend to keep my cars a long time (I bet you can guess one of the main reasons why), I would certainly recommend Cityside, and Lucas in particular, to anyone looking for a non-stressful car buying experience, and an excellent car to boot! Buying a car at Cityside changed my perceptions of car dealers. I strongly believe that my salesperson helped me buy a car that was right for my needs and desires and not just to make a sale.
