Buying a car at Cityside changed my perceptions of car dealers. I strongly believe that my salesperson helped me buy a car that was right for my needs and desires and not just to make a sale. I have rec dealers. I strongly believe that my salesperson helped me buy a car that was right for my needs and desires and not just to make a sale. I have recommended friends to shop at Cityside and ask for Mark. It seems like people like working at Cityside and like working with each other. This helped make the shopping experience, and maintenance experience, a good one. My main suggestion is for Suburu to focus on a low milage car. Thanks, Andrew Cornell More

I got the information I needed and the help in deciding if and which model would best fit my needs and lifestyle. Mark and Glen were very personable yet professional in their demeanor. I never felt pressured to make a decision. There was no back and forth in the negotiation making the experience hassle-free and trusting - unusual for this type of business. I was always treated with respect and my questions were promptly answered whether in person, phone or email. Mark's service was of the highest quality and it made all the difference in my decision to buy a new 2009 Subaru Forester. More
My wife and I bought a 2008 Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited from Mark Lidano at Cityside Subaru. Our experience was very positive. Mark and the rest of the staff let us take the cars out for a test drive, and seemed focused on understanding what we were looking for in a new car, rather than in selling us the car that they needed to sell. I'd recommend Cityside Subaru to my friends. More
This was the first time I purchased a car on my own, it was not an intimidating process. The sales person was low key, honest, and knowledgeable. The test drive was very complete and demonstrated all the car's features. (Except all wheel drive in snow which is one of the reasons I was interested in the Forester.) I guess I got a good price, I don't have anything to compare it to. More
After 20 years of owning Volvos--and paying their very high service costs--I wanted to buy my first Subaru. We drive a lot in Maine so the AWD was essential. Went directly to Mark Lidano at Cityside and high service costs--I wanted to buy my first Subaru. We drive a lot in Maine so the AWD was essential. Went directly to Mark Lidano at Cityside and bought an Outback. Our experience with him was close to ideal: he was very patient with long road tests and multiple family members coming by to drive at different times. His description of the models and options was very clear and thorough. He was friendly and accessible at all times. Only negative experience came around the contract and the back-and-forth around the numbers, which was hard to follow and seemed to shift along the way, and I did feel pressured. In three months we've already put 7500 miles on the car and are finding it perfect for our needs. More
Cityside Subaru is a great place. The customer service representatives are knowledgeable and friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed, with no high pressure sales. We felt comfortable asking questions, and got a lot of support. We have consistently used the Subaru services for maintenance, and they have continued their excellent service on that end as well. We also appreciate the fact that CitySide Subaru underwrites for WBUR! More
I have owned Subarus, mostly used, since the early 70s and all bought in Maine.I serviced them myself and it all worked out pretty well. The 4 wheel drive, later AWD was vital a few times a year, and I like many northern New Englanders appreciated how well they ran on unplowed roads with a foot of wet snow. I have been dealing with Citiside since 1996 where I bought my first new car ever, a Legacy wagon, and had it serviced regularly. I admired the skill with which lurking troubles were diagnosed and repaired. After 133800 miles and an impending $1000 repair, I decided to buy a 2003 Legacy wagon that was on the lot. I may have paid more than Edmunds might advise, but having Citiside as a dealer makes it worthwhile and I plan to continue having it serviced regularly. I recommend Subaru and Citiside to friends whenever the subject of cars comes up. My experiences with them accounts for the above ratings. More
This was a very positive experience as far as purchasing a car at a dealership goes. I had a couple of issues with the car I purchased, each of which were addressed without excuses or lame explanations. Had a car at a dealership goes. I had a couple of issues with the car I purchased, each of which were addressed without excuses or lame explanations. Had I shopped around I might have found a better price but the service and honesty was well worth the differential. I will be interested to see what my experience will be with future service on my car. More
I am leasing a new car that I picked up through Cityside. I came in with a general idea of what I wanted and the salesperson Mark who assisted me was very attentive and helpful in the selection process. I I came in with a general idea of what I wanted and the salesperson Mark who assisted me was very attentive and helpful in the selection process. I was able to go on a fairly lengthy test drive that probably could have been extended even longer if I had wished. Plenty of time to see what the car could do. While I did some research into pricing ahead of time, I decided not to spend additional time shopping around based on the initial experience I had with Mark. My only issue came when we started to talk hard numbers. Some of the fees that seemed set in stone only a short time earlier appeared to be flexible once negotiation started. I wish I insisted on seeing the contract earlier in the process. I ended up a little confused on the breakdown of the final numbers as I didn't see the actual contract until after the negotiation. While I appeared to get more value for my trade, another fee was suddenly reduced to compensate. I love the new car and will most likely stay at Cityside for service as well. More
