Andie - We understand your situation is an emotional one and apologize for your loss. Your review is unfortunate to see, as Vida & Doug are long-term, respected employees of the dealership. Please know that an odometer statement is not a dated document and not official until signed by the owner or their representative which is why you were asked for your driver’s license. The form would need to be completed and signed by you as your father's representative confirming that the miles are correct, while the Power of Attorney releases responsibility of the vehicle to the dealership. Both forms are part of standard procedure to conclude the turn in of the vehicle. Otherwise, there is nothing official to prove the return of the vehicle. 1. You cannot obtain a Power of Attorney for someone who is deceased. 2. Vida explained nothing to me about why the need for my driver's license nor did any of the 6 different people I have spoken with at BMW Financial Services. What I was told from each of them was to return the vehicle to BMW, get an odometer reading and call Rocio at BMW Financial Services to inform her of the name of the person I returned the vehicle to. 3. I fail to understand why an appointment would be needed for something that should take a matter of minutes. In addition, there were a total of 3 other customers in BMW - all of whom were being helped by other staff. The dealership was far from busy. Again, no one at BMW Financial Services ever told me to make an appt. 4. Vida and Doug's attitudes were disrespectful and demeaning. I can't remember another time I have been treated so poorly. I was simply trying to do the right thing by turning the vehicle into the dealership where my father obtained the lease. I'm sure my father would have never expected his daughter to be treated so poorly by this dealership. He paid his lease on time, had very low miles on the vehicle and took excellent care of it. To have his daughter treated like I was was something he never could have imagined. 5. I returned my father's other leased vehicle to a Mazda dealership prior to our coming to BMW. The Mazda representative was respectful, helpful and gave me an official odometer reading without any hassle, need for my driver's license or Power of Attorney paperwork. He expressed his sympathy for my loss, filled out the paperwork, provided me with his business card and told me to call him should I need anything else. This is how people should be treated. Your response to my review does nothing to address the awful way in which I was treated by Vida and Doug. I will be doing further research as to who else I can address my concerns with as no one should be treated like I was. I asked for Doug for his manager's name and Doug stated "there is no one else. The buck stops with me." I am sure Doug has a manager, he just didn't want to give me the contact information. Just another example of the disrespect I was shown by Chapman BMW on Camelback.
