My initial experience at CarVision Maple Shade was deeply disappointing, marked by deceptive practices, unprofessional behavior, and a lack of transparency. Despite this, I ultimately purchased the car after receiving a follow-up call from the dealership agreeing to meet my terms. Unfortunately, the post-sale experience only reinforced my negative perception of this dealership. Initially, I received an online trade-in estimate for my car ranging from $7,510 to $9,645, which seemed reasonable. However, upon arriving at the dealership, I was offered only $3,500—a blatant bait-and-switch tactic. After negotiations, the offer increased to $6,500 with a promise to match higher offers from competitors like CarMax, plus an additional $250. While this resolution seemed fair, the overall lack of transparency during the process left a sour taste. Financing was another area of concern. Despite my excellent credit score of 851, I was offered an 8.5% interest rate. When I requested to see the bank rates, my request was refused, making it clear that the dealership prioritized profit over honesty. This lack of clarity extended to the Tesla Model 3 I was purchasing, which was advertised at $18,999 with a $4,000 tax credit. The dealership had already factored the tax credit into the reduced price, making it impossible to verify whether the credit was genuine or a marketing gimmick. During negotiations, a salesperson openly admitted that cash buyers like me are their "worst kind of customer" because they couldn't profit from financing. This comment was disrespectful and unprofessional, emphasizing their focus on upselling higher interest rates rather than serving their customers. To make matters worse, another sales manager, Rakesh, interrupted my discussion with another staff member, yelling aggressively that they "weren’t going to lose" and "weren’t making money." His behavior was unacceptable and made me feel unwelcome. Despite these red flags, I received a call from CarVision agreeing to meet my terms. Hoping for a better outcome, I proceeded with the purchase. However, my concerns resurfaced when I inspected the car after the sale. The vehicle was not properly detailed, and there were chips all over the windshield—damage that was not disclosed during the sales process. These oversights demonstrated a lack of care and attention to detail, further undermining my trust in the dealership. I regret my decision to do business with CarVision Maple Shade. From bait-and-switch tactics to unprofessional treatment and a lack of transparency, the entire process was marred by dishonesty and poor customer service. The issues with the vehicle after the sale were the final straw. I will never deal with this dealership again. Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ Car buying should be a transparent and professional process.
