We wouldn't have been so anxious if we weren't driving our old car because we were worried the transmission would die before we could trade it in, but it was so frustrating to watch the tracking and have it sit in one place for a long time, and then when we thought it would be arriving soon, it would instead head someplace else. Also, the tracking system was garbage. I called our sales associate at one point because he also thought it would be coming to us soon since it was in Colorado, but a few days later it still hadn't arrived. He did some digging and found out it was heading to Oregon next and then Washington. However, the tracking didn't update to say it was in Oregon until almost a week later. If I'm paying $2000+ for a vehicle to be shipped, the tracking better be extremely up-to-date so I know where my vehicle is! To their credit, they did refund us our shipping fee in the end. My other frustration was filling out the paperwork and other information online ahead of time wasn't extremely intuitive. I got stuck on one step, and when I called customer service to ask for help (I called a couple of different times and had very long wait times, so that also wasn't the best), they didn't know how to answer my question the first time either. So that part of the process could use some improvement as well. Overall, a good experience, but if I buy another car through CarMax again, I will prepare myself to be disappointed by the shipping process and hopefully be pleasantly surprised that it's better than expected. More
I gave one star because the rating indicated it was a poor review and honestly that is the experience I had. I hunted for the car, had the car shipped, financed at the bank.... the only thing carmax had to do was prepare the car. When we went to buy the car, the inside of it was dirty. There were literal boogers on the trim and gooey stuff on the sides of the doors and just all around had not been cleaned/detailed. We asked the employee to have it detailed and even stated we would pick it up and finish the paperwork the next day so they had time to detail it. They did 0 out of the 4 things we requested (the boogers were still on the trim when we picked it up- my husband used his card to scratch it off in front of the guy helping us). We were really disappointed with the quality of service. After having three car for a few days we realized there were some issues. A light was broken and hanging, wires were loose in the passenger seat, the driver speaker was broken, and the driver side mirror was not acting accordingly. They ordered parts, and we once again asked the car be cleaned and wiped down. It was once again returned to us dirty and though the issues were on order to be fixed the worker we picked up from tried to claim they had been actually fixed. I talked to a service representative in Colorado and he assured me this is not the way Carmax should be operating. They should be cleaning the cars and not giving us a run around fixing issues. Maybe its just the Spokane Valley store that is delivering sub quality service. I will be reaching out to management soon as we are in the market for a second car and am feeling subpar about giving my money to this company again. Hopefully they can make it right and make me feel better about giving them tens of thousands of dollars within a few months. More
Shipping communication was lacking and took several days longer than we were told. The car only had one key, and you were unwilling to get me an additional key fob for a $40k car, I was told Carmax will not longer than we were told. When we received the car it was not clean and the first night my wife and I went out with this car our drive home was dangerous to say the least, there was a rain storm and the wipers were so bad we could not see out of the windshield at all. We had to find a store that sold wipers at 11pm and install them in the parking lot to make it home safely. How disappointing for a high end fairly new car. This is the second car I've purchased with your business and possibly the last. More

I bought a 2024 Nissan Frontier that was shipped from CA. There were a few issues with it but CarMax Spokane has made them right with minimal hassle. I would buy from them again. They couldn't have been more attentive and helpful. They didn't try and interact with us unless we seriously were making eye contact and approaching them. Plenty of no pressure, just here's the info...and plenty of follow up on if I like my ride. Having so many options/choices of vehicles, I ended up purchasing something I hadn't even considered and couldn't be happier. I enjoyed our salesperson from start to finish! More
