The salesman (Brad) seemed to be knowledgeable about the Explorer I had questions on, and seemed to have all the correct answers. The buying experience was equally as pleasant. My husband and I were encouraged to "take a long" test drive, which we did, and when we asked if a private mechanics inspection was allowed we were told that that was not a problem. So much so that since we went on a Saturday and our mechanic wouldn’t be able to inspect the truck until Tuesday Brad made arrangements with my mechanic to have the car dropped off Tuesday morning. A few minor issues were found by our mechanic (leaky valve cover gasket, missing floor jack) but once we discussed these with Brad he told me they would take care of them as a condition of the sale. And.... They were! Which I honestly will admit surprised me. There are a lot of dealerships that promise things and never follow through but from my experience Car City tries to please everyone. More

Always Great I’ve been buying trucks from Charlie for over 20 years, way back when they used to be on Rt 6. I own a landscaping company in New Milford and every ti I’ve been buying trucks from Charlie for over 20 years, way back when they used to be on Rt 6. I own a landscaping company in New Milford and every time I need to expand my fleet I always go see Charlie. In 2007 – 2008 when the economy started tanking I had to dramatically scale back my business and cut overhead. I went to Charlie and asked him for help and he bought back 3 of my trucks. My credit suffered big time, but today I just bought my 9th truck from Charlie. I’ve had A+ credit making 100,000+ a year to now D- credit, but I will only buy my trucks from Car City. He’s always been good to me and never judged my financial situation. When he asked me to say a few words online I told him I would be glad to. I see there are some negative reviews, but being a business owner myself I know that no matter what, there are always going to be unhappy customers, and no matter how hard you try, you can’t make them happy. I understand that, I just hope someone reading my review understands that as well. Just because a customer is unhappy doesn’t mean that the business/ owner/ employee did anything wrong. More

No hassles, no back and forth, which is the WORST PART of buying a used car. 45 minutes later I drove off the lot in a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, the same brand of car that another "bad credit / no problem" dealership couldn't get me approved on. My daughter, wife, and myself all heard Brad say during the transaction, and I'm paraphrasing, "Even thought it's sold 'As Is' if you have any issues let us know and we'll stand behind the car". Evidently that means they stand behind the car, wave goodbye, and when you call with an issue they do nothing but tell you they'll help and never do. It soon became clear the car was sold by the previous owner because of a blown head gasket. I called Brad who told me his dad Charlie handled all the service. So far so good. Charlie asked for an estimate (we live 3 hours away). The first delay tactic was to tell us he thought the estimate was too high. I called another shop and got an estimate that was close to first one. Then Charlie said I should bring it to them and they would fix it. That morphed into them paying for less than half the repair. I asked if they would pay that amount if I had the repair done close to home and Charlie said yes. After a few more weeks and several phone calls they kept saying they would pay and the check never showed up. I would not recommend buying a car from them. More

They claimed the car passed their safety inspection, but the car was DEFINITELY not road safe when he drove it off the lot. He was never given copies of ANY paperwork, including safety inspection sheet, repairs done, etc. He has had the car about 2 months and its xxxx near undriveable. We are contacting the state first thing tomorrow to file a complaint. The owner Charlie is a total slime. I would not recommend buying from this place--ever! More

When I test drove the car, I noticed that the windshield had a crack and Car City made arrangements to have it replaced and did so on the day scheduled.
