Lack of communication/availability. As a first time BMW buyer, I was excited to drop off my vehicle at the dealership for service. I had high expectations. I dropped my car off on a Frid As a first time BMW buyer, I was excited to drop off my vehicle at the dealership for service. I had high expectations. I dropped my car off on a Friday morning for a check engine light diagnosis. I was told prior to leaving my vehicle, that the service department was a day behind work, and that they would need my vehicle for a few days and that there was a recall. I was fine with this. However, Friday and Saturday went by. Sunday the dealership was closed. Monday went by and then Tuesday arrived and I hadn’t heard anything from my advisor. I then took the initiative to call for an update and was sent to voicemail. It happens, so I again patiently waited for a return call after numerous attempts. I was finally called back and told that my vehicle is on the machine and we should know something by the end of the work day. That time came and no one reached out to me. Again, this is a luxury “foreign” vehicle company. Wednesday came and I was told to again leave a voicemail and my call would be returned. I heard nothing until Thursday (business day 6 since Friday) and this happened by me not leaving a voicemail but demanding to leave a written message on my advisors desk. I asked if I could consult another professional regarding this matter and then learned that my advisor was the only one who was allowed to assist me. He finally called back and told me what he said on Tuesday, “that we have you vehicle on the machine and that we should know something soon.” I told him so, we still don’t know anything more than Tuesday’s same report. He then states “my computer is frozen let me go to the back and find out what’s going on.” You can only imagine my feelings towards the service at this point. After an hour I hear nothing and yes, I call. I finally get in touch and I’m told the emission pump is faulty and the recalls have been replaced. After finding out my warranty doesn’t cover this fix, it’s around 2pm and I decided to have the emission pump fixed. I was told that it’s too late in the day and my vechicle (which is my primary mode of transportation) won’t be ready until Friday! I finally pick up my vehicle Friday and during my transaction, there was no explanation given regarding the lack of communication and professional availability. I guess this is the BMW way and nothing was out of the norm. More

Excellent Experience Buying a New Car I came down from out-of-state to purchase a new car from Tommy Thompson at Brian Harris BMW. My experience exceeded my expectations from our first con I came down from out-of-state to purchase a new car from Tommy Thompson at Brian Harris BMW. My experience exceeded my expectations from our first contact until Tommy watched me drive off the lot. The entire process was very efficient and professional. Everything to do with my being from out-of-state was taken care of by Tommy and the other people at Brian Harris BMW. I got picked up at the airport in New Orleans and was driven to the dealership to complete the waiting paperwork and have the BMW Genius show me what I needed to know about the car. Then I was on my way back home. More
