First, he gave me the rundown of how Dorschel works with their non-commission salesmen, no haggle "clean" pricing, trade information, etc. I was impressed since it was different then any dealer I had been to in the past, but I was still cautious since, after all, he's a salesman. After that we began discussing what it was I was interested in and then we took one out for a test drive. Man was that fun! Dan was extremely knowledgable about all things VW and I think he had just as much fun as I did on that test drive. So we get back to the dealership and I'm bracing myself for the "what do we have to do to get you in this car" pitch. I kept waiting and it didn't happen. We went over financing options and STILL no pressure. He gave me a print out of the financing options that appealed to me and then he left it at that. He gave me his card and told me to get in touch with him if I had any other questions or if I wanted to move forward with getting the car. Unreal! So that night I get an email from Dan thanking me for coming in and providing some additional information on the GTI I had looked at. Again, no pressure! Just a reminder that he was available if I had any questions. I had some things to get worked out and he called me about 5 or 6 days later just to touch base with me. I called him back the next day and told him I'd contact him on Monday to come in and have them check out my trade as well as look to purchase the car. Monday rolled around and I went to Dorschel and met with Dan. We discussed the exact car I wanted and the options. He introduced me to Tom (forgot his last name) who was going to check out my trade. Tom asked me some questions about the car and WE went for a quick ride in my trade-in. He explained what they would do with my car (auction), how they determined the price, and that they always tried to break even on the trades (or be within $100) and not make money on them. It was a refreshing experience being involved in the whole "appraisal" process and not just giving the keys to someone who would go and do some mysterious thing to the car and come back with an outlandish number. I accepted their price for my trade and we worked out all of the financing. Dan explained everything along the way and offered his opinion on things that he didn't think were necessary. After a few days my car arrived from downstate and the great experience at Dorschel continued. I'm an extremely happy customer and wouldn't hesitate to do business with Dorschel and Dan Welch again! I can't recommend them enough for an excellent buying experience from start to finish! More
We just leased a new 2011 VW Tiguan SEL and couldn’t be happier with both the car and experience we had working with Dan at Dorschel VW. This was our first venture into leasing. All our previous cars we happier with both the car and experience we had working with Dan at Dorschel VW. This was our first venture into leasing. All our previous cars we have purchased and tend to keep for a long time. So of course we had a ton of questions on leasing vs. buying. We found Dan to be extremely knowledgeable as he walked us through various options and financial scenarios. My wife and I really appreciated Dan’s insights and patience to answer all of our questions and help guide us to the right decision. I found Dan to be honest, upfront and not hesitant to give his opinion. I really liked that approach and it helped build a trust that is key to having an enjoyable car buying experience. Once we decided, Dan and Dorschel VW went out of their way to make us happy. My wife wanted a Red Tiguan SEL but they were having a tough time finding one after expanding their search across a few states. So we thought we might have to settle for a different color or trim option. Then we got a call from Dan a couple days later and they had located a red Tiguan coming in right off the boat. Of course we were thrilled and couldn’t wait to see it. I can honestly say that our experience at Dorschel VW was one of the best we’ve had. Everyone is extremely friendly and you don’t feel like you’re at a car dealer. I know that might sound weird but that’s what sets Dorschel apart. I would highly recommend Dorschel to anyone shopping for a new car. And don’t forget to ask for Dan! More

The service at this dealership is beyond equal. In particular, Dan was extremely helpful. He walked me through the entire process of buying a car; when I wasn't eligible for a new car, he assisted me to find the perfect certified used car for my needs and within my budget. Dan works hard for his customers, from selecting a vehicle, to answering questions and showing features, to fighting for financing. It was a comfort to know he was always a mere phone call away, six days a week, if I had questions. I have a reputation for asking many questions; Dan is a Volkswagen man who answered everything from engine stats to laser welding over spot welding. Despite the fact that it was raining the day I went to see the vehicles, he allowed me to take my time looking at the various models, standing out in the rain beside me without rush or complaint. I honestly cannot say enough positive things regarding both Dan and this dealership. Walking in, someone always asks if they can assist you, without being pushy. After a few visits, the front desk ladies began to know my name and would offer me coffee before I even sat down. I loved the up-front, no-haggle pricing; I never once felt I wasn't getting a good deal yet I didn't have to stress over getting a good deal. The dealership and Dan are both class acts who have not forgotten about customer service in this fast-paced, modern world. More

This dealership and the sales person I dealt with, Ronnie Levine-Ribble, provided the best vehicle buying experience I've ever had. I was looking for a 2008 or 2009 Honda Element. Searching the internet, I Levine-Ribble, provided the best vehicle buying experience I've ever had. I was looking for a 2008 or 2009 Honda Element. Searching the internet, I found the one I wanted at Dorschel's Used Car location. I sent an inquiry, and received a response and set up a test drive, with yRonnie Levine-Ribble. Apparently she's been selling cars for over 40 years. It shows. I've never met such a patient, funny, and sincere salesperson like Ronnie. Throughout the sales process, I had to make four visits to the dealership. On the last one, I waited for an hour after my appointment time becuase no one notified her I was there. She apologized, and apologized and apologized. It wasn't a typical apology. She meant it. And that meant a lot to a customer like me. Ronnie also took the time to explain everything. Every piece of paper work. Every blank that needed to be filled in. Every option. Every little detail. I've never had any salesperson take that much time to make sure everything is explained. While there are some low ratings on here, but if you find a vehicle you like located at Dorschel's Used Car center, make sure you deal with Ronnie. If she makes their experience as wonderful as mine was, then you will have no problem getting the vehicle you're looking for. More
I was living overseas and knew I was looking for a VW. I found a Golf on Dorschel's lot by looking online. The price was already advertised. When I got into town, I walked in, took it for a test drive, and found a Golf on Dorschel's lot by looking online. The price was already advertised. When I got into town, I walked in, took it for a test drive, and drove away later that day. They didn't kill me with fees for "getting it ready"--it was about $100. So the price I saw online was the price I paid. He did pull out the paper to draw on and try to sell me some of the extra services, like super wax or whatever. But overall, it was a great experience and I expect to shop there again (in 20 years when I drive my car into the ground!). More
I took my higher mileage Passat for service with the check engine light on. I asked for and agreed to pay for a full diagnostic to determine if the car was worth repairing. I was given an estimate and check engine light on. I asked for and agreed to pay for a full diagnostic to determine if the car was worth repairing. I was given an estimate and was assured that they were confident that the recommended work would fix the problem. I asked repeatedly if they were sure, because any more than the estimate, and I would not have any work done. Well, it didn't fix the problem and they said it would cost another $1000 to fix it. And they can't guarantee that it will fix the problem. It is definitely NOT worth paying their outrageous shop rates expecting their expertise to be worth it. Once they had my money, and refused to pay the additional $1000, no one in management will call me to discuss the issue. More
This dealer screwed me into buying a overpriced car. By overpriced i mean that the car had been wrecked and purchased by dorschel at an auction then fixed to sell. They waited until after i purchased the c overpriced i mean that the car had been wrecked and purchased by dorschel at an auction then fixed to sell. They waited until after i purchased the car to turn it into carfax, so now im stuck with a car with "frame damage" on the history report because Dorchel are scammers. They never told me it was in a major wreck. I cant refinance because nobody with take a car with frame damage. I needed warranty work and they always made excuses on why they wouldn't honor it. Even small work like tie rods and sway bar links that clearly was covered they wouldn't cover. I will never deal with them EVER again. Well, I purchased a car from their lot. It was a used 2005 Buick in good shape. Initially I was trying to go for a SAAB but there were major problems with it (check engine) during test drive so I didn't 2005 Buick in good shape. Initially I was trying to go for a SAAB but there were major problems with it (check engine) during test drive so I didn't purchase it. The car was sold to me and the tires but the tires were still the originals. After a year they wouldn't even go through inspection (I don't know if they were fit to go through the initial dealership inspection either but we'll assume it did). Aside from the traditional car salesman tactics (let me go ask my boss, making it seem the listing price (which I didn't pay) was a very good deal) overall quite satisfied. Month later the belt tensioner pulley went bad, got it replaced under warranty. Good service since it was under Buick warranty and they had to score good on the customer satisfaction. Fast forward 1 year, time to get serviced and new tires. Buick warranty had ran out (I have an extended warranty though). I call during business hours and at first couldn't even get a quote for an oil change and 4 tires, had to call back later. Got a call back about the tires, they were too expensive so I declined and I was going to make an appointment for the oil change. Call back several times again the next day and they never even bothered to pick up their phones even after I've literally waited at least 15 minutes several times. If you go to their service desks, there are at least 3 people in the Buick department and 3 in the Toyota department as well as a secretarial-type and a parts guy. Nobody could pick up in those 15 minutes? Fast forward 6 months, check engine light on again. Got it checked out, cylinder 1 misfire. I go to the dealership right away without making an appointment. Went in to talk to the guy to run the codes and check what needs to be done (another service place took less than 10 minutes to figure it out) I get talked (barked) to like I am another dog by the service guy saying (obviously annoyed) he's full and it'll take at least an hour to even look at it, I should've made an appointment, they don't have time until next Tuesday (it's Friday and I have a wedding to go to on Saturday so I probably shouldn't drive too far with it). I am not going back, the service while under Buick warranty (when they get rated) is good, but as soon as you're on your own they don't even want to bother with you? Either way, if they don't want my money, so be it. More
