Like the car -- hope to be done with the dealer First time car buyer at a dealership. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and excited to drive my used 2013 Sonata. I'm not one to get excited about First time car buyer at a dealership. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and excited to drive my used 2013 Sonata. I'm not one to get excited about buying a car -- so the shakiness of my experience is likely contributed by my reluctance to spend large sums of money or commit to years of monthly payments. However, on day 3 of my new purchase, I am happy with the choice I made and the willingness of the sales department (Amber & Chris), finance department (Chris P.), and service department (John) to address my concerns and work with my budget. Pros: Sales (Amber) was approachable and responsive to my needs, desires, and hesitations. Communication was established early without being pushy; and a member of the sales team brought a candidate vehicle to a central location for a test drive to accomodate my schedule. The Sales manager (Chris) met my bottom line to get me a whole lot more car for my budget than I had expected. Lastly, the service department allowed a last minute service to replace the weak battery of my new purchase after 2 days of driving. Cons: My initial visit was based on incorrect inventory info -- I called before heading to the dealership to confirm two vehicles were available to test drive. When I arrived, the sales person couldn't find the keys because they had been sold earlier that morning (waisted 40 min). The vehicle that was brought to me off location to test drive at a later date was $4k over my budget (note: I eventually purchased that car.) The fact that a battery had to be jumped twice to start the car on the 2nd day off the lot is suspicious that they sold me a vehicle that had low maintanence check. HAVE THE SERVICE DEPT VERIFY YOUR VEHICLE BEFORE SIGNING!!! The sales manager split the cost of the battery+service instead of covering the full expense because he "took $200 off the sales price at my request." When asked if he would replace the battery at no cost if I had paid the full list price he said "ya, probably." In sum, I'm happy with my vehicle 3 days after purchase. I appreciate Amber in sales and John is service, but my experience with the sales manager was sketchy and rude. He is the reason for the 3 star rating instead of 4. More
