Bill Buck Ripped Me Off!!! $10,000 I brought a vehicle to them with 47,000 miles that didn't run they told me I needed a new engine and battery. I had a 100,000 factory power train warr I brought a vehicle to them with 47,000 miles that didn't run they told me I needed a new engine and battery. I had a 100,000 factory power train warranty and a aftermarket 100,000 mile warranty. I was told that I had no options but to replace my engine and that was $7,500 I was told that it was not covered and I had to pay out of pocket. So I paid the fee so I could get my car back 2 months later. I drove my car and realized the a.c was not working properly, I brought it back to them and they told me my a.c compressor was bad and I needed to pay more money and was not covered under warranty. Bottom line they screwed me over for around $10,000 had my car for 2 months and all repairs should have been covered!!!! BEWARE! More

Those purchases range from new (2) to 4 used vehicles including the one from the beginning of the month. The most recent was the oldest with the most mileage on the vehicle but in great shape so it will be a good SUV for our son. We contacted BB about the vehicle while away in NC since the BB website is so good we felt that this is the right vehicle. We knew that the SUV may sell before we arrive home but decided to take our changes which is what you do unless you purchase remotely which we have done in the past. We have had a couple of issues that BB staff in particular Ben Lewis has taken care of in a reasonable timely manner. We have confidence in the service staff, Dean and advisors like Ryon who have helped us many times in the past. When purchasing anything things can happen but a family business like BB would not continue to improve and expand as they have in the past 50 years if not for great service before and after the sales. We have many choices for service but for all the vehicles purchased in/ out of warranty we have stayed with BB because they take care of the problems. Is the cost more; maybe but results are more important; when my children get out of class or work is the vehicle reliable that is what is important. We have seen the negative reviews which before this recent purchase surprised me... did something in a couple years change? Well after having a couple things happen and I am no special customer other than a repeat customer which all businesses want .. nothing has changed; service before and after the sale does happen if both sides are reasonable in what is needed. I understand the frustration of taking the kids to a dealership as we have three children also but a new age with the internet does exist you can negotiate a deal remotely subject to inspection; the dealership is there to sell its product to the first customer who agrees with BB for the purchase we knew this as we drive back from NC to look at the vehicle as well. We highly recommend BB for sales and service new or used. Mark More
BILL BUCK'S SUCKS!! Against my better judgement, I recently purchased a used car from Bill Buck's Chevrolet in Venice. I searched online for the car I wanted to purcha Against my better judgement, I recently purchased a used car from Bill Buck's Chevrolet in Venice. I searched online for the car I wanted to purchase, a 2013 Ford Escape, and found that they had one there, that they had taken in trade. When I saw all the negative reviews about this dealership, I was reluctant to go there -- especially since they were 44 miles away from my home. I had checked with all the local car dealers, and none of them had the model with the options I was looking for. But, I wasn't just going to look at cars on the lot -- I had one specific car I was interested in, so how bad could it be? As it turned out, it was very bad. In my 50+ years of purchasing new and used vehicles, this is the worse experience I have ever encountered. It took me three trips down there, when it should have taken only one. I should have known there were problems with this dealership because every time I was there, (three times) I was either the only customer in the sales office, or one of two customers. And every department I encountered was incompetent, untruthful, unconcerned, and left me totally frustrated, and angry, and at one point I just said the xxxx with it, and walked out. Here are the highlights of my purchase. Appointment Setters/Customer Relations Reps have no clue as to what Salespeople are doing. Beth set up an appointment for me to see the car, on Tuesday, only to find after driving all the way down there, that the car was not there. It had been sent to the Ford Dealership, to have a recall taken care of. I was told that it would be back in a day or two, and that they would call me when it came back. On Friday, after waiting three days, with no call from the dealership, I called the Salesperson, Ray, and he said that the car was coming back that afternoon. So, I went back down there, and waited about an hour for the car. First, Ray told me that it was on it's way back, then about 40 minutes later he told me that they were just now going to send someone to pick it up. Unbelievable!! I really wanted to get going, but after all this time, I just decided to wait it out. When the car came back, I took it for a test drive, and I loved it. I was told that the Service Dept. had checked out the car, when it came in, and they had taken care of anything that needed to be done, before offering it for sale, and now the open recall had been taken care of by the Ford Dealership, so the car was good to go. I went right to the Salesperson's office, and made on offer. When Ray took my offer to the Used Car Sales Manager, that Sales Manager, Phil, told Ray that he already had an offer on that car, at the full asking price, that he was going to accept. I couldn't believe it!! Why did they have me waste my time, and make two trips down there if the car was sold!! I was totally pissed off, I told the Salesman off, and walked out. Later that day, I received a phone call from Beth, in Customer Relations, followed by an email, that said the car was not sold. Phil just had someone coming in to see the car on Tuesday, (which was four days later) who would buy it at full asking price, if he liked the car. She implied that Phil was not a very good Manager, and that she would get another Used Car Manager involved, if I still wanted the car, and for me to call Ray, tomorrow morning, and set something up with him. The next morning, Saturday, I called Ray, made an offer at full list price, and told him to get the car ready, as I would be there to finalize the purchase, and pick it up, in an hour, which I did. End of story?? -- NO. That evening, while driving home from dinner, we found the right headlight was out, which made it unsafe to drive the car. The next day, when we lifted the hood, we found that the headlight was unplugged, which was a simple fix, but why did it leave the dealership like that? This was a safety issue. Upon further examination, under the hood, we found several missing screws, an air filter dated 2012, caps missing off wiper blade bolts, and an outside trim piece that had become unfastened. This car was checked out by Bill Buck's Service Dept.?? If so, they did a xxxx poor job. I would never have a car service there. We called Ray, on Monday, to express our dissatisfaction with their Service Dept., claiming that they had checked the car out. And, Ray said he would look into it, and call us back later, which he never did. TO SUM IT ALL UP -- DON'T GO THERE!!! There are so many cars on the market, and many fine dealerships to go to, that care about their customers. This might have been a great place to buy a car, years ago, when Bill Buck was alive and running the dealership, but it is not anymore. How they manage to stay in business is beyond me. More
Bait & Switch Worst car dealer experience ever! Don't go to Bill Buck Chevrolet in Venice. We have been in the market for a new family car for a year....we have sea Worst car dealer experience ever! Don't go to Bill Buck Chevrolet in Venice. We have been in the market for a new family car for a year....we have searched for the perfect car, finally found it an hour and a half away, called and spoke to staff that said it was still there. yesterday, we made an appointment for today, then called again before making the trek w 3 kids on a Friday night to ensure they had it. We were told yes ! When we got there we were told they just sold it and surprisingly they had a similar car (more expensive) waiting for us to look at. Funny that one guy said it was sold earlier and our guy said it was just a bit ago. ....fact is they knew we were coming to probably buy it, they sold it and lied to us when we called again to confirm only to get us in the door. We told them we had a long drive and they disregarded that for their own benefit. Awful experience.....disappointment all around! More
Lack of knowledge I went in with a problem. They said they would fix it and $1000, 3 weeks, and two rental cars later, they said they can't fix it and sent me else wher I went in with a problem. They said they would fix it and $1000, 3 weeks, and two rental cars later, they said they can't fix it and sent me else where. They were happy to take my money however instead if admitting they did not know how to fix it, they "fixed" numerous other things that turned out not to be a problem at all. Very unsatisfied. More
