The way it should be when you buy a car. You get a great price and you don't get the high pressure sell to buy it. I was leaning towards Subaru but needed more information so I went to two local dealers price and you don't get the high pressure sell to buy it. I was leaning towards Subaru but needed more information so I went to two local dealerships. My first stop was Bertera Subaru in West Springfield. I was first met by Keith Goldsmith a sales consultant there. He was genuine, nice, soft-spoken and made me forget awhile that I was actually shopping for a car. I looked around and got an immediate impression that everyone there seemed very laidback. The next thing I noticed was their showroom. It looked like a living room with cars parked in the middle of it. The television was on. I think it was the news. People were also smiling engaged in conversation everywhere I looked. In my conversation with Keith I got around to letting him know what I wanted to use my next car for and that it needed to be dependable, AWD, and fuel efficient. Keith asked me questions about my lifestyle and how it pertained to my next potential purchase. If I was going to buy new he suggested that it be a Subaru because they're less expensive than comparably equipped Toyotas and Hondas plus they hold their value better. Keith helped me narrow down the models Subaru offered to a hatchback Impreza, a Forester, and an Outback. He explained the advantages and "disadvantages" of each in regards to my needs. Before I had a chance to ask about pricing he showed me various internet sites to validate what a great price was for each vehicle. I thanked him for the information and I told him I needed to think about it. He said okay and asked me to call him if I had any further questions. I would have purchased from him on the spot but I didn't want to buy on a whim. I wanted to gather firsthand information to make the correct educated decision. I decided so far that my next car was going to be a Subaru. The next decision was what model and which dealership would I buy it from? I later returned to Bertera Subaru after have a less than satisfactory experience at Steve Lewis Subaru in Hadley. The Impreza I decided was too small for me. In the end I decided on purchasing a Subaru Outback. Tom the business manager gave a fantastic finance rate and didn't try to manipulate me into buying more than what I needed. Keith then introduced me to the other people involved in my purchase. Mark the general sales manager who gave me a very fair value for my trade-in and Shawn the general manager who said I could always go to him if Keith or Mark weren't available. My advice to those buying a car? Take the time to do your research in person. Bertera Subaru whatever you're doing keep doing it. I'll be seeing you all again for an oil change very soon! More
Horrible customer service with an incompetent staff. Once the sale was made all customer service went out the window. Promises made when making the deal were not kept. Vehicle needed repairs immediately and clearly did not go through a "rigorous" inspection before being put up for sale. Go somewhere else!! More

This was quite important as I have Multiple sclerosis and do not present as an ordinary buyer. Keith was extremely attentive to this situation and adjusted his sales technique to my needs. No time was wasted, he accepted what I said and did not condescend. In short order I had bought my new car, paid for it in full and had it delivered. We were assisted immediately upon entering the dealership. Dan helped us to find the type of vehicle we wanted at a decent price, and we were able to pick up the vehicle the next day. This was my second car i bought from Stan. He always treated me good showed me a variety of cars I'd like. Test drove a few and got me into a car that i will enjoy for the coming years. He was very professional and helped out where he could. Funny i had bought a 2014 Crosstrek and it was a great car just i do a lot of traveling and needed something with a bit more power for the highway merging and get on and off. Besides that if i didn't have to do this I would have stayed with the Crosstrek. In the end i traded it in and got a 2014 WRX. it is a joy to drive!! One another note told my mom about this and she went in that week and got a Subaru that next week too. Go see Stan if you need a new car he'll get you in the car of your dreams. All New Englanders should own a Subaru!! More
In 2013 my daughter bought a 2009 Forester,later that year, she was in a violent crash when another vehicle ran a red light at an intersection and forced the left front tire complete to the other side of year, she was in a violent crash when another vehicle ran a red light at an intersection and forced the left front tire complete to the other side of her Forester. She was injured, as would be expected. But she survived because of the attention Subaru payed to safety in there vehicle. Every safety unit worked, and she is back on her feet. If you ask me why we have bought 2 new subaru's since that day. It's because we still can hug our daughter. We have worked with Keith Goldsmith on both the Legacy,for my daughter and the Forester 2.5i touring model for my wife. This gentelman is most impressive in information and effort in finding exactly what we needed and wanted in our search. We will be sending everyone who asks us about our Forester to Keith. I had looked at a similar car at another area dealership and felt "pushed" by them to make a decision, which always makes me run the other way! So when I talked to Bertera, I knew a lot about the car I wanted and the price that I could live with. They were helpful and available without being pushy, and straightforward about the pricing. I ended up with a very good deal, and a better loan than I thought was possible. In addition to Dan going out of his way to get me the car I wanted and get it ready for me, the financial guy, Tom, was also exceptional in his dealings with my husband and me. I have never felt "great" about a car buying experience before, and have never rated a dealer, but this was an exception. When someone suggested that I put a review up, I was happy to do it. I would definitely recommend this dealership and will even use it for service in the future. More

Keith spent a lot of time with my husband and myself in trying to find a suitable car for myself and my family. He answered every question we had and if he was not sure of the answer, he made every attemp trying to find a suitable car for myself and my family. I have had the car for a little over a month and had to call Keith recently regarding a service question. Once again, he researched a little and got back to me in a timely manner. I would have no problem going back to the dealership for any future purchases. More
