Spoke to him on Saturday, told him I wanted to put a deposit down on a vehicle he told me he could not take the deposit as the vehicle was not in the inventory and it was coming in on Monday. I Called h deposit down on a vehicle he told me he could not take the deposit as the vehicle was not in the inventory and it was coming in on Monday. I Called him on Monday expecting for him to tell me teh vehicle was in, I left him a message and he called me back to tell me the car was sold that morning. He said he came in at noon time and the vehicle had already had a deposit on it, I couldn't believe it. I asked what about what you told me about putting down the deposit on Monday, he became argumentive and told me they would find me another one. That was not the point, the point was that he told me the vehicle would be in on Monday, I told him a second time that I wanted to put a deposit down, he again told me he could not because it was not in the inventory and if he took the deposit it would mess up the books. So I said ok Monday it is, and I guess Monday it was not. Now wonder they need to get bailed out, let one of the CEO's go to one of their Dealerships and get treated like the other reviews say they were. Or let them get lied to like I was, dishonesty will get you no where, especially in the car business. As you can see the type of person I am taking time out of my day to write this and don't forget the word of mouth, fortunately I am a business man and know many many people, this dealership gets a big thumbs down.............. I went in interested in nine vehicles I saw on their website. Of the nine, they had ONE in stock. The salesperson who was "helping" me tried to force me to test drive a different vehicle without reveal website. Of the nine, they had ONE in stock. The salesperson who was "helping" me tried to force me to test drive a different vehicle without revealing its price. I asked three times and he ignored me each time. I had given them my keys for a trade in appraisal, and when I asked for them back the salesman brought me the manager instead of my keys. This dealership is rotten, and I will never visit them again. 10 REASONS TO BEWARE OF BERTERA OF PALMER!!!!!!! 10 REASONS TO BEWARE OF BERTERA OF PALMER!!!!!!! BEWARE OF BERTERA! WHAT THEY DO TO CONSUMERS IS NOTHING SHORT OF CRIMINAL!!!!!!! My experience wi 10 REASONS TO BEWARE OF BERTERA OF PALMER!!!!!!! BEWARE OF BERTERA! WHAT THEY DO TO CONSUMERS IS NOTHING SHORT OF CRIMINAL!!!!!!! My experience with them was the absolute WORST!!!! If you have a little time, I will be happy to share my NEGATIVE EXPERIENCES WITH BERTERA. They are as follows: 1) On the day I purchased the car, I was not informed that there was only one key to access the vehicle. (This little surprise cost me $146.00 at a Jeep Dealership). 2) When reviewing the paperwork, I was provided with a finance interest rate of 7.99% through their bank. When I questioned that, with my 794 credit rating, I knew I could get a better interest rate, I was laughed at and informed by the balding finance manager (the one who owns a boat and loves the Yankees) that I would spend more money on gas looking for a better rate...Well I went to Digital Credit Union and got a 4.75% interest rate! I saved myself over $2,000. 3) I was able to bring the car home that evening and was informed I would have to bring it back in the morning for them to get it ready for delivery. After multiple calls to the service department and ONE WEEK LATER, my car was finally "ready" for me. 4) After only having the car for a short time, it failed to start. Believing that it would have to be jumped, I called my neighbor and then I pushed it out of my garage. If I was a guy, it probably wouldn't have been a problem, but I am a 5'2" female, weighing only 112 lbs. I can hold my own, but it is a struggle to push a Grand Cherokee out of a garage at an uphill slant. Anyway, the car failed to start multiple times and back to Bertera it went. 5) If I ever have to deal with that putz, the Service Manager, Geoff, it will be a cold day in xxxx! I was told the car would not start because there was corosion on the battery and there was not enough charge to provide a spark to get the car started. 6) I brought the car back again and this time it stayed at Bertera for TWO WEEKS. Geoff informed me that they could not duplicate the problem and that possibly it was due to my having too many keys on my keyring and breaking the connection. WHAT???????? I may be a blond, but I'm not a stupid blond...well, may I am....because I did purchase a vehicle from Bertera! 7) To add insult to injury, I had to fight for a loaner. After speaking with the General Manager, Sam, I was provided with a loaner. Boy, it's too bad that the inspection sticker had expired even before I sat in it, a little detail that those boys at Bertera failed to notice. I was stopped by a state police office and informed that although he did sympathize with my situation, he would be escorting me to the nearest inspection station. Yes...I did pay for that inspection sticker and was never reimbursed. You folks at Bertera can thank me after reading this wonderful rating. 8) When I went back to Bertera to pick up my peice of crap, I spoke with the General Manager, Sam. I explained that I did not want to keep a vehicle that I paid too much for and was not reliable. He agreed and had one of his sales people, Myron, take me out to the lot to pick out another vehicle and they would "work with me". After test driving a 2008 Pontiac, I decided that I would purchase the vehicle. I had my cell phone with me and called my bank Digital Credit Union to ask if they could give me the MSRP on this vehicle. They did, and guess what..it was $3500 lower than the price that Bertera wanted for the car. 9) When we got back to the dealership, Myron asked me what I wanted to spend monthly on a car payment! I told him that I did not want to play that game and to just tell me what the price of the new vehicle would be and what the trade in value on the piece of crap that I had purchased less than 3 months ago would be. Well, they would give me $7000 less than I paid for the trade-in and charge me $3500 more than my bank told me the MSRP was. Needless to say, I marched out of there very unhappy. 10) Therefore, I went to the dollar store and purchased some yellow poster board and markers and made signs that read 'BERTERA SELLS LEMONS'. I taped them on my lemon across the street at the Big Y parking lot, right where everyone test driving their lemons could see. Needless to say, they called the police and the manager of Big Y told me that I had to leave. Everytime I hear a Bertera commercial on the radio, I want to puke! The entire team at Bertera give an all time low to the term "Sleazy Car Dealer". I may not be able to have my sad and sorry situation rectified, but I do not hesitate to tell everyone that I come in contact to steer clear of your dealership! More
Save yourself a headache and NEVER go to this dealership. The prices advertised are after a $3500 which they conveniently fail to disclose until you sit down to talk numbers. The sales people are just go b The prices advertised are after a $3500 which they conveniently fail to disclose until you sit down to talk numbers. The sales people are just go betweens with the sale managers. They over promised and significantly under delivered. We were promised a specific price and when we went to sign our purchase agreement the payment was $61 more then promised. After an agreement we did finally come to an agreed price. However we signed our ppwk and still have not been able to take delivery of our vehicle. Empty promises and flat out lies were made to us by the dealership. Not one employee has taken responsibility for our experience. Everyone passes the buck onto someone else. We've actually filed a complaint with the BBB to try an assist us with the delivery of our vehicle. Essentially we've been taken!!! More
We found a truck that we liked on the internet and decided to go and see it at Bertera Chevrolet in Palmer, MA. When we arrived the woman at the desk did not even make eye contact. No one asked to h decided to go and see it at Bertera Chevrolet in Palmer, MA. When we arrived the woman at the desk did not even make eye contact. No one asked to help us so we finally asked to speak with someone. We were told to wait. While we were waiting, Brian asked if we were being helped. We said we just had a question. He said he is here on his day off but he would help us. He introduced himself only to my fiance and refused to tell us about any car in stock without us giving him our name, address, and phone #. He finally looked up the truck we were interested in and said he sold it himself 2 days ago. He said that the prices listed on their website are really $3500 more than the internet listed price, because it assumes a trade in. We didn't have a trade in. Brian told us that the truck that we wanted is sold at a "premium" and would be hard to find for the price listed on their website or at the kelly blue book value. He made us wait several times and then came back and asked if we are interested in a SUV. We told him we wanted a truck like the one they have listed on their website. He left again and came back and told us that he is able to get a "special" deal at auctions around the country. We told him we'd prefer to search for that "special" deal ourselves. We were extremely disappointed with Bertera Chevrolet's misleading advertising of their prices on the internet and their very poor customer service. We will never buy a car from there. More
The price of the car was good and our sale person was decent enough, but we all know they are just pawns to the sales managers. And the sales manager treated us like morons. They had the car listed fo decent enough, but we all know they are just pawns to the sales managers. And the sales manager treated us like morons. They had the car listed for X price on the internet, then gave us exactly what Kelly Blue Book had for our trade-in. They kept going back and forth doing the "let me talk to my manager" thing, but never really made us a better deal than what was listed. I do sales and marketing consulting for big clients that trust my understanding of how to be successful in sales. I'm not an idiot, I know when someone is playing a sales game with me. Then the car didn't have the remotes for the keyless entry system, which they didn't disclose until after the deal was done. When I went back they said, some cars don't have them even if the car has the system. It's like floor mats. That's great, but the car we bought was 6 months old and the remotes cost over $100 each. Non-disclosure of missing parts is a big problem in my book, especially now that I can't do anything about it. Worst of all, they had a sign in the showroom that said anything less than 100% satisfaction is unacceptable. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone, they cheap prices aren't worth the horrible customer service. More
