Bertera Cheverolet had a used Hummer that I really liked the looks of. After driving 5 Hours one way to buy the Hummer, The Hummer wouldn't pass for a State of Maine inspection sticker. I ended up spending roughly $700 to get the Hummer to pass for an inspection. It became a hassle dealing with Bertera Cheverolet. Bad Experience over all. Here is an e-mail I received from the general manager. dominick salemi to djette, me show details Feb 23 Robert, I understand your position and empathize with your situation. I know from your email you can understand mine. To clarify a couple of things, you came here to save money. Whether it was in more equipment, less miles, better condition, better history...I am not sure why. The bottom line here is that we do put out a better equipped, cleaner, and better value product than most whcih is why we do the volume we do. So you came here for all or some of those things, and your commitment in driving the distance shows how much different your H3 was in value to the compitition around you. As for your discription of trim pieces you found missing and the windshield you only discovered after driving half way home, this was a pre-owned vehicle purchase. You and I both purchase our vehicles pre-owned because it is a better value, but they are never going to be new. A pre owned car is always going to have its own "character". Without those minor flaws, it would be 2-3 times the cost to us. I am trying to determine the level of participation, if any, that I am willing to have in this matter. I hope that you understand the commitment level this dealership has with its customers for me to entertain this at all without the vehicle here to inspect. In order for me to xxxxx this further, I need a clarification on the "cardigan joint". My service department is having difficulty with that term to describe the repair they are stating it needs and estimate what my cost to repair it would be. Could you please send me a better description? Dominick J. Friendly greeting by Jason Ayik who immediately introduced us to Frank and showed us the model we were looking for. After being shown all the features on the showroom model we made an offer which introduced us to Frank and showed us the model we were looking for. After being shown all the features on the showroom model we made an offer which was accepted. This dealership handled all of our financing concerns and we were very happy with our experience there. We would highly recommend them to anyone who was considering a vehicle, new or used. More
My experience at this dealership was pretty bad. I drove a long way to get there after speaking with the Sales manager on the phone and ended up leaving after spending over 3 and half hours there with one h a long way to get there after speaking with the Sales manager on the phone and ended up leaving after spending over 3 and half hours there with one hour basically being pressured to buy a car that was not worth what they wanted for it. To start their website can be misleading. I'm not saying they do this on purposed, but when you use their site you find cars you are interested in and want to see, only to find that they don't actually have those in stock and are working to purchase them soon or have them incoming soon. It's not like they hide that as the VIN info on the car page says incoming upon further inspection, but I guess as a user I don't expect to see cars that are not currently in stock and available on their site, minus the ones recently purchased of course. Like I said I drove over 2 hours to get there and I ended up waiting around inside for over 20 minutes to just have someone address me as a customer, and even then I had to initiate the conversation. When I finally got in touch with the sales manager I spoke with, he handed me off to one of his sales guys and I began looking at some vehicles. I explained thoroughly what I was looking for and the price range I was looking at, and the kid brought me car after car that was not in the range I told him I was looking at. In addition, I spent more time waiting for him to get cars then I did actually looking at or test driving any of them! Finally he brought one over to me that I was semi interested in on his 4th try and it had about 55,000 miles, a cracked taillight and clear indication it was in an accident. He insisted it was just a fender bender and they would fix everything so I took it for a test drive. It was a decent car so I went in a talked price with them. They had this car priced out of my price range (surprise surprise) so I began negotiating and trying to see what they could do given the damage and history of the vehicle. They were adamant with their price and would only budge a little bit. They played the whole "let me check with my manager" game and came back and forth with pricing and finally another guy came out to try and close the deal. He went into this whole monologue about how great the car was and how they wanted to win my business, but in the end it came down to the price and I didn't get the feeling they were that willing to work with me so I left. When I was leaving the 2nd guy said that I should do some research to see if I can find a car even close to this supposed deal and get back to them. He was confident I would not find anything better. So I left a $100 refundable deposit just in case this was the best deal available and drove another 2 hours home. Later that night I got online and did some more research and found 4 exact same cars, some better models and some the same at similar and better pricing. The catch though was that all the ones I found online had far less mileage on them. I went to look at a few of them the next day and ended up purchasing a better and more difficult to find model of the same vehicle for roughly the same price Bertera was willing to offer me. The big thing with this vehicle though was that it had only 25,000 miles and was in pristine condition. It blew the vehicle Bertera had tried to sell me out of the water and the guy I ended up working with was far better at getting the deal done. I told him I didn't want to play the same games I had to play with Bertera the day before and was ready to make a deal for the right car. He didn't play any games, got me the car I was looking for and I am happily driving it now. I am still waiting for my deposit to be refunded from Bertera and it has been about 2 weeks since I was in and indicated to them I bought another vehicle. I emailed that same manager who I had been working with prior to coming in asking him to refund the deposit and he did not even respond to me. I will be calling soon if I don't hear back. I would not recommend this dealer to anyone as I got a heavy feeling that they were mis-representing their vehicles and just trying to move as many as they can without caring about quality. They were friendly as can be during the process, however I did not appreciate the attempt to pressure me into buying their second rate vehicle. The funny thing about this whole experience is, if they had just went to the pricing I wanted them to go to (which was reasonable and still would have given them a good profit) I'd probably be driving that vehicle right now. Good for me they didn't! More
I was very surprised with the excellent quality of service and personal attention that I recieved at Bertera Chevrolet, even though I was purchasing a pre owned European Sport Sedan. I called the dea service and personal attention that I recieved at Bertera Chevrolet, even though I was purchasing a pre owned European Sport Sedan. I called the dealership from overseas and was able to place a deposit on a vehicle on the spot, holding it for me for longer than any dealer would prefer, this is when I knew that the customer service of this dealership was better than average. When I arrived to pick up the car, the salesperson that took the deposit was on his off day but the sales staff did not miss a beat and answered all my questions with unmatched professionalism and honesty and I purchased the vehicle the same day. I test drove the car and completed a purchase and sales agreement the same day, every person I encountered from the Salesman to the Finance Manager was a friendly professional at all times. The next day the car was delivered 90 miles to my hometown with the courtesy that one would expect when purchasing a Bentley. Steve Gonzalves, the internet sales specialist that took the deposit on the vehicle, and Mike Teixeira, the Sales Consultant that handled all the paperwork and test drive made my experience at Bertera Chevrolet among the best that I have ever had at any Domestic or Foreign Dealership. I would recommend Bertera Chevrolet to anyone, whether they would like to purchase a new or pre owned Chevy, or if they want a pre owned Audi S4 in near-flawless condition (as I did). I did all of this while I was on R&R Leave from Iraq, and I can say that Bertera also honors the Veterans of this country. Jeff Staff Sergeant, US Army (Active) More
They were by far the best and easiest car dealer to work with. They listen to my needs and my issues and were able to get me into a new car at a good price and a good loan when other dealers just couldn't b with. well heres my review from real person whos been screwed over more times then I cant count..its long but worth reading..enjoy.. I was trying to get a 2006 nissan murano, I had gone to over 10 used car de over more times then I cant count..its long but worth reading..enjoy.. I was trying to get a 2006 nissan murano, I had gone to over 10 used car dealerships all denying me a car loan. My credit is not the best but it is not the worst. I contact robert canning online and filled out a credit app. He called back saying he got me approved for a conditional loan, which I was surprised but scheduled a visit. Bertera is almost 2 hours from my home. When I got there the dealership is located on a large hill with many vehicles. The office was very comfortable with couches and big screen tv's. Everytime I visit the dealership there is a wait because of the high volume of customers, which is not a bad thing...but they definitely make it comfortable for you. After the wait rob introduced me you a car sales man jorden, who had just joined bertera. Jorden had me fill out a credit app with my name and address already filled out. Which is when I started to think things were strange because I thought I had already filled this out online and thought my credit had already been approved. But since I made the long drive I just went through it. He asked how much money I could put down, I only could do $500 that day. He asked for my payment...which is when I got very nervous about giving money to someone who hadn't gotten me approved yet. But I ended up giving him my card and sending him on his way. After waiting about an hour jorden said why dont we send you home and give you a call when we hear something back from a promising bank. I got nervous again saying im not leaving without my $500. Can you tell I dont trust car dealerships? After talking with Carl who worked in the financing he assured me that I could get my money back if everything fell through. So I left. The next day I called Carl and he said I was all set. I responded well what am I all set with..he explained that he got me approved for a loan but didnt have the details in front of him at that time. so I asked if he could call me back when he had them in front of him. So I waited until the next morning, never got a call so i contacted jorden to ask him what was going on. Jorden explained that he would need my insurance info. I didnt have it on me but told him to google geico (by the way geico is awful) info and give me a call back when he had some details. Once again no one called so I called later that evening kind of upset becuase no one was calling me back. I asked what was going on and jorden said that im all set with everything but he couldn't give me the loan info over the phone because of the privacy act. So i went down the next day...when I got there Carl showed me the loan info with a fair interest rate and payments. I was very excited but was looking for someone to come out of the closet and say april fools! lol The next day jorden delivered the car and we registered it in my name! woo hoo. So let me tell you I was so prepared to get screwed over because that is what im used to when it comes to car dealerships. Bertera seemed a little sketchy at first but they are just more relaxed in these situations. The 3 I delt with rob, carl and jorden where all very helpful and nice. None of them had that awful salesmen mentality giving you those cheesy one liners!! lol. After going to so many dealerships (dedham auto mall, bournes auto center, richards motors, toyota of nashua just to name a few)none of them worked as hard to get me a loan. Toyota for one pushed me around for over a month trying to get me a loan where Bertera got me one in less then 24 hours. oh, and the car of course.. 2006 nissan murano s pearl with 45,000 miles was $16,877, less than the booked price runs awesome and looks immaculate! I also was able to purchase a 3 year or 36,000 mile warranty on top of the 60 day warranty bertera offers. So I hope this helps anyone deciding on where to go for there next car. Bertera is awesome, little weird but the end outcome is what I wanted. could be happier :-) More
