Receptionist was not great at helping when you call because your car is dead on a busy street, but otherwise courteous and helpful, and car was repaired in a timely manner. One of the worst BMW dealerships I’ve been to. Let’s start with my My first of two experiences. I scheduled an appointment to replace a failed water pump and was quoted a pickup date. I stressed the start with my My first of two experiences. I scheduled an appointment to replace a failed water pump and was quoted a pickup date. I stressed the urgency and had them double check with the services department. I was reassured they could complete the task by the discussed date as its only a 3hr job. Upon arrival with my towed car (only about an hour after our conversation) I was then told there were multiple cars ahead of me and they wouldn’t even start working on my car for another week. Waste of my time and money. Experience number two. I needed a new key and ordered one for $380. Upon pickup I was then informed if the key doesn’t work it would be an additional charge of $200 to program. For $380 you think the key would come programmed but whatever. Luckily for me I took my new key home & it didn’t work. So I called BMW of El Paso and was informed that they could program the key and to bring it in, ONLY being told it would be ready for pickup in day or two. Upon arrival I was then informed they need my car at the dealership (why wasn’t this communicated over the phone when I called?). I discussed my concerns with the Service Advisor & against my better judgment I had my car towed in at 0830 the next morning being reassured multiple times it would be ready for pickup that day. I even received numerous phone calls being reassured everything is on schedule and my car will be ready for pickup in the evening. Fast forward to 3hrs before closing and now I’m being told: it needs a security module costing $1,101 +tax with a 2week wait and I’m SOL on the key I just purchased because the module comes with 2 keys. But wait it gets better. After I complained about the lack of communication then demanding a refund for my new $380 “paperweight” I was then told my car ACTUALLY needs a different module now costing $1,700. But they can throw in a discount for the Unprogrammed key I just purchased bringing the total cost down to $1,110. When conducting business with BMW of El Paso I am consumed with the thought that I am portrayed as Incompetent, Gullible & Naive. Not to mention every time I’ve set foot into the this establishment I haven’t been greeted once as if I’m unimportant. More
