After leasing my vehicle, I canceled a protection plan well within the 30-day window and was told I’d receive a “full refund.” Now I’m being told tax and finance charges won’t be refunded, even though the amount was rolled into the lease—not handled as a separate item. No explanation, just silence. I’ve sent over ten emails to both the finance department and the general manager, with almost no real response—just a few vague, one-line replies that don’t answer any of my questions. Phone calls go unanswered too. It took nearly 3 weeks for them to pay off my trade-in, during which I had to make another payment and was charged more tax and APR on a vehicle they already sold. It’s been over a month and I still haven’t received registration paperwork or permanent plates—just a temp tag with no supporting documents. When I picked up the vehicle, it was only half charged—I had to stop to recharge on the way home. That might seem minor, but it reflects the overall carelessness and lack of professionalism. I leased another BMW from a different dealership two weeks later, and the experience there couldn’t have been more different—organized, responsive, and transparent. If I could give zero starts I would. List of problems. 1. We were charged $400 for a 48 cancellation that we told them we weren’t going to cancel and didn’t want that charge. 2. The red headed manager said in order to make the deal he would Theo in all weather mats. 2 mats came in and the back and forth for over a month. He said he didn’t include a trunk mat and that our salesman jt would have to pay for it. 3. We needed up selling the car because I couldn’t stand where it came from. Feb 16 I sold the car and bmw slo told us we would be getting a check back for extra warranties we purchased. Here I am April 16 I’ve called weekly for two months and they always say ( someone was going to call me back) no one ever has. I finally got through to someone after threatening to come to the store and cause a scene. BMW NEVER CANCELLED MY EXTRA WARRENTIES! This place is full of liars, scammers and thieves. Heartbreaking Experience at BMW San Luis Obispo I was excited and proud to purchase a brand new 2024 BMW M340i from BMW San Luis Obispo, September 2024. I came in prepared, I brought my paid off BMW for trade in and was approved by their own Financing Institute (BMW Financing) and had agreed to fair terms. The sales experience with the manager, Scott, was positive, he was respectful, professional, and easy to work with. I was also captivated and genuinely proud buying a vehicle from a dealership that is more on faith based business. We shook hands, and I left the dealership thinking I had just completed a smooth, honest transaction. Unfortunately, what came after has left me feeling blindsided, stressed, and deeply disappointed. After signing all the documents and driving my new car home, I was shocked to see multiple credit inquiries from different banks and credit unions. I had no idea why this was happening. When I called one of the credit unions, they told me that BMW San Luis Obispo had sent them the request. I called the dealership, and Paul from finance, who handled my paperwork, admitted he had sent them out, but only after I confronted him. He gave me a brief apology, then proceeded to gaslight me, implying it was somehow my fault for buying the car. He even told me they “lost money” on the sale, as if I should feel guilty about it. I was confused and hurt by his tone and attitude, especially after such a major purchase. By the end of the call, he even denied sending the applications altogether. At that point, I didn’t want to argue anymore, I already had my loan, my car, and just wanted to move forward. But it didn’t end there. Last month or so, I went to the DMV to check on the status of my plates and registration, only to find out that the dealership never submitted anything. I called them to check on the status and was kindly told that it has been processed already. Fast forward to today, March 31, 2025. When I called them again and asked for an update since I have not received anything from the DMV, a kind woman on the phone looked into it and told me that my plates and registration had been mailed, but not to my home address. They were sent to a PO Box address I’ve never owned or used. She seemed surprised herself and admitted someone from their end had changed the address. She promised they would investigate. But at this point, I can't help but feel this was done intentionally. A quiet form of retaliation, perhaps, because as Paul put it, they “lost money” on the sale. That possibility is not only disturbing, scary and it’s heartbreaking. I came into this dealership simply looking to trade in my BMW for a newer one. I had hoped for a seamless, respectful experience. Instead, I’m left with a beautiful car, but also ongoing mental and emotional stress, caused by people who should’ve been the most professional part of the process. Scott, the Sales Manager, was great. But the rest of the experience, especially the handling of my paperwork was an absolute disaster. This should never happen to anyone else. Will I recommend them? I'm 50/50 on this because they have a good sales team but with an unprofessional admin side. The higher ups should investigate this and apply the proper actions. More

I recently purchased a vehicle from BMW SLO and JT was my sales specialist. I will preface this review by highlighting the fact that I live in 3,000 miles away in Virginia and purchased a vehicle solely bas sales specialist. I will preface this review by highlighting the fact that I live in 3,000 miles away in Virginia and purchased a vehicle solely based upon what I had viewed online about the vehicle; but JT shared videos with me and walked me through the entire process and was very responsive to ALL of my inquiries. And even though there was a three-hour time difference, regardless of the time that I called and/or called and left a message, JT always responded! And if there was ever a question in which he did not have the answer . . . he gave me the courtesy of always calling me, letting me know he did not have the answer, but he would find out and call me back--a promise in which he followed through on with 100% fidelity. JT is high energy and his festive personality really enhances the car buying experience--especially when purchasing a vehicle online "from coast to coast." I found his ability to leverage his expertise with the BMW brand, his communication skills, AND his transparency really strengthen his proficiency in this role as a sales specialist (I prefer the title: Brand Specialist). Nonetheless, I recommend JT without reservation to any and all who are looking to purchase their next BMW . . . even if you reside outside the California Central Coast! More
