I purchased a 2022 Tesla Model 3 AWD Long Range from BM Motor Cars in late August 2023 as an out-of-state buyer from Ohio. What followed was one of the most stressful and poorly managed customer experience Motor Cars in late August 2023 as an out-of-state buyer from Ohio. What followed was one of the most stressful and poorly managed customer experiences I’ve ever had. The process started with aggressive sales pressure and constantly shifting financial numbers. I was repeatedly told the car was “beyond clean,” detailed, and fully inspected. Once I showed interest, there was immediate pressure to complete everything quickly because they “didn’t want the car to sell.” I explained that I needed time to move money around for the down payment, but I was pushed to complete everything immediately, which forced me to split the down payment across multiple credit cards. After completing all paperwork, insurance requirements, and payment requests within a day or two, communication became inconsistent. I repeatedly had to follow up myself for updates on shipping. I was first told the car was being charged to 100%, then later told they were still trying to locate a transporter. I was given multiple delivery dates that came and went. I rearranged my work schedule multiple times to stay home for the delivery. One transporter allegedly got into an accident. Another delivery was scheduled for the next day, but the transporter never contacted me with an ETA despite being told they would. I spent an entire day waiting at home with no communication before eventually being told the vehicle would not arrive. When the vehicle finally showed up on September 15th, I had to meet the transporter in a public plaza while I was at work because the truck could not access residential streets. Then I saw the actual condition of the car. The vehicle I received was nowhere near the condition that had been described to me during the sales process. The interior was filthy. There were dents, loose panels, detached trim pieces, and heavy curb rash on all four wheels. Most concerning was the condition of the tires. One tire arrived at 20 PSI with a slow leak, and another tire was so worn that steel cords were exposed. The car also pulled heavily to the right while driving and immediately needed an alignment. I replaced all four tires almost immediately after delivery because I did not feel safe driving on them. I documented everything with photos and sent a detailed email outlining all issues. I was told I would receive reimbursement for at least part of the tire issue, but the reimbursement never arrived. Unfortunately, the problems did not end there. The title and registration process became another months-long nightmare. I had to repeatedly chase the dealership for updates while trying to legally register the car in Ohio. I went through multiple temporary tags while waiting for the dealership to resolve title issues. At one point I had already been making payments on the vehicle for months while still being unable to properly title/register it. The communication during this period was incredibly frustrating. Messages would often go unanswered for days at a time, timelines continuously changed, and I constantly felt like I was the one managing the process instead of the dealership. Used cars can have imperfections and delays happen. I understand that. What I cannot excuse is the combination of pressure tactics, poor communication, misleading representations about the vehicle’s condition, apparent lack of inspection, unresolved reimbursement promises, and prolonged title issues after the sale. Avoid this place at all costs. More
BM Motor Cars misrepresented the actual condition of a vehicle I purchased in January, 2026. They did not even replace the set of rear hub assembly on the vehicle even though the noise was obvious when the vehicle is driven onto the street or highway. Moreover, Mike or Mikey was very sneaky and he was prevaricating, and did not want to admit or deny that BM Motor Cars knew about the condition of the car prior to the sale, although I eventually deduced, he knew about the defect from a statement he subsequently made. Additionally, he initially agreed to proceed to diagnose the noise and get back to me, but when I called about 5 days later he was like, “Oh yes, I can diagnose it, but it’s gonna cost you about $140, and how do you wanna pay; VISA, Mastercard, blah blah blah.” Very annoying and vacillating bunch of folks, acting like a politician flip flopping on a issue. Update 12/08: This dealership sold me a car without an airbag. This was confirmed by an authorized Toyota Dealership. ⭐ HONEST REVIEW – PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING The salesman, MIKE, asked me and my airbag. This was confirmed by an authorized Toyota Dealership. ⭐ HONEST REVIEW – PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING The salesman, MIKE, asked me and my fiancé (who was not the buyer) to leave a 5-star review before I even drove the car off the lot. This explains why there are so many 5-star reviews. Do NOT leave a review until the dealership has fulfilled their promises. El vendedor me pidió una reseña de 5 estrellas antes de que yo me llevara el carro. NO LO HAGAS hasta que cumplan con su parte del trato. ⸻ My experience with BM Motor Cars (Mike Gil & David – Service Director) Friday 10/31 – Initial Visit I went to see a vehicle and immediately noticed: • Tire pressure warning light ON • Strange noises (I suspected alignment issues) I told the salesman Mike Gil, and he told me the issues would be fixed before pickup. ⸻ Saturday 11/01 – Pickup Day When I arrived, the issues were NOT fixed. Mike then told me the service department was closed on weekends and that I needed to make an appointment with David, the Service Director. ⸻ Wednesday 11/05 – First Service Visit Before meeting with David, I took the car to a private mechanic. Their diagnostic showed multiple issues. On my way to the dealership, the car began shaking above 30 MPH. I showed David the mechanic’s diagnostic. He briefly looked at it and told me he would take care of everything listed. ⸻ Thursday 11/06 – After First Repair I picked up the car and: • The TPMS light was still on • David told me to “drive it 30 minutes” for the light to go away and it did not go away • The shaking issue was still present. ⸻ 11/21 – Picking Up Plates I told David the problems were still happening. He told me to come back Monday 11/24 at 10 AM. ⸻ 11/24 – Second Visit I arrived at 10 AM, but David was not there. He called me instead and told me to drive the car to a mechanic 13 minutes away. At the mechanic he sent me to: • They fixed the TPMS light • They discovered the inner tie rod was damaged, the steering rack boot was detached, and told me the vehicle was unsafe to drive in that condition • They also told me they could NOT make that repair there Because of the safety concern, I drove carefully to another mechanic who could fix the issue. I texted David to let him know the car needed to stay at that mechanic. He said he would get back to me once he reached his office. I also messaged Mike Gil asking for a supervisor’s email, and I was left on read. ⸻ 11/26 I have not received any response from anyone. My car is still at the mechanic, and I am paying out of pocket over $1,000 for repairs that should have been addressed before the vehicle was sold. ⸻ Conclusion Based on my experience: • Promised repairs were not completed • Communication after the sale was poor • The car had serious safety issues that were not properly inspected • I was left without support once I reported problems Please be cautious and make sure all promised repairs are fully completed before finalizing a purchase. ⭐️ 1 Star – BEWARE of BM Motorcars – Classic Bait-and-Switch Tactics If you're considering buying a vehicle from BM Motorcars in Linden, NJ, we strongly urge you to think twice. We were seriou Bait-and-Switch Tactics If you're considering buying a vehicle from BM Motorcars in Linden, NJ, we strongly urge you to think twice. We were serious buyers — willing to pay their full asking price, travel 250+ miles, and had our financing lined up. But this dealership took advantage of our trust and wasted our time and money. We asked repeatedly — eight times — to speak with a manager, finance officer, or someone in authority. Every request was ignored. Their salesperson, Anton, convinced us to apply for dealer financing by claiming that Wells Fargo would beat our credit union's 6.29% interest rate. He later told us we were approved at 5.9% — so we booked flights, got a certified check, arranged insurance, and prepared to drive home in our new truck. Only after it was too late to make other arrangements did Anton finally send the paperwork — with a 7.1% interest rate. When questioned, he flat-out denied ever quoting 5.9%, despite having said so clearly. This was a classic bait-and-switch. They delayed sending us the paperwork until the last possible moment, knowing we were committed — flights, check, insurance, time off work — so we’d have no way to back out or arrange alternative financing. They also padded the deal with over $1,200 in fees, on top of the inflated interest rate, which they profit from directly. BM Motorcars fits every stereotype of a shady used car dealer: evasive, manipulative, and dishonest. They knew exactly what they were doing — and they hoped we wouldn't catch on until it was too late. We can’t warn people strongly enough: AVOID BM Motorcars. More
