As a first time buyer, we were extremely unhappy with our experience with purchase of our custom 2022 Blazer. When the VIN number was available, we requested the purchase order to start the financial process experience with purchase of our custom 2022 Blazer. When the VIN number was available, we requested the purchase order to start the financial process with our bank. Their answer was no. Two of the many excuses they gave us was that our credit union was not local (because they assumed I was from Laredo the credit union was from our hometown)(credit union was local to the AutoNation where we ordered vehicle), and also the process for the dealership to receive the payment was going to take long and statement from finance manager "it was too early to finalize the numbers. lets wait for the vehicle to arrive to the lot and will send you the purchase order then, in order to try and save you money with potential rebates." fast forward a month later when vehicle arrived to the dealership, I requested the purchase order AGAIN to sales person David Chassell, who spoke with GM, GM Damian called me and still denied my request of the purchase order of the vehicle I ORDERED. GM gave me long explanation on how he couldn't release it and forced me to do in house financing with them, that was the only way for me to purchase my vehicle as per GM. All I wanted was to do the financing with my bank directly. GM threatened to give back my $500 deposit that was used to order vehicle in order to do the outside financing. and I said " I know exactly what you are trying to do, you are gonna give me back my money that was used to order my vehicle to secure it is mine, but in the mean time if someone where to come to the lot and request the vehicle info and were to do in house financing you would sell the vehicle under me" GM manager stated "yes" so I was forced to do the in-house financing. the entire process took 6 hours. The day we scheduled a sit down, they ran my credit without asking me and they did not ask how much down payment I was going to give to run the numbers. they had previously quoted us for a 2021 blazer that we did not like and they ran with those numbers. All in all, it was a horrible experience for us. Their final excuse, AutoNation is no longer working with outside banks and every purchase needs to be financed in house. We were unhappy on how we were treated and the situation could've been handled more professionally. there was lack of communication throughout the entire purchase. We are still pending accessories that didn't come in. Items were added to the purchase order but we have not received them (they were suppose to mail them to us). We will not purchase from AutoNation again. Our first vehicle purchase was not memorable as it should be. the excitement on owning a new vehicle on day 1 was lost because of the hassle we had to go through, from the day we ordered the vehicle, to the day we signed.
